Fundamentally, we are made of cheese. Also, fundamentally, all linkies have already made it, they just need to understand this on a basic, fundamental level

FUNDAMENTALLY, your whole life is a MANIFESTATION of the thoughts that go on in your head.

1K link suicide stacks will be worth anywhere from 1 million to 12 million....that’s on the low end if chainlink middleware only facilitates 1% of global derivative market estimated to be worth between 600 trillion and 1.2 quadrillion bucks.

How do you get that?

1% of 600 trillion is 6 trillion.
6 trillion divided by the total supply of LINK (1 billion) equals 6000.

6000 x 1000 link = $6 mil?
That sounds ridiculously high for this honestly. This is coming from a Link marine. Insanely high. How does one do the math on this correctly?

We were always going to make it fren, weirder things have happened. Lots of people got rich off BTC and ETH, why is Link any different? We have both found ourselves in very unique positions being invested in Link, and we will all make it.

It doesnt sound high, it literally makes 0 sense, and will never happen.

Well yeah, my above estimation assumes link will have an equivalent value reflecting that of the derivative contracts being executed.

Perhaps purchasing input data will be much cheaper, like how lawyers, paper and ink (that make up and enforce traditional contracts) are typically less expensive than an actual multimillion dollar transaction.

What would the value of Oracle data be pegged at otherwise? What am I missing?

Hmm, well it shouldn't need to be pegged at full value of the underlying contract. Insurance doesn't work that way, instead it puts a price on risk. The LINK network will have reputation systems eventually and so the amount of Link needed for collateral will depend on the reputation of the oracle and whatever other guarantees the contract requires.

That's why ChainLink is so hard to properly value, I think - the value of link will be determined by the marketplace of contracts from every industry imaginable. Some oracles will have very high throughput but need low collateral, some will have low throughput and need high collateral. And everything in between.
