Ah, the one /biz/ post a month that is actually worth anything. Gee I wonder who will be setting up a network of off-chain workers that can be called to do off-chain computations to be fed into dApps and smart contracts, and I wonder why they thank SmartContract in their press release but don't list any SC members as contributors, and I wonder why they specifically establish a standard for SGX based TEE computation.

>Many enterprise blockchain use cases have demanding requirements for privacy, security, throughput, and latency that are difficult to achieve. Temporarily moving some transactions off-chain for computation elsewhere, and then returning a summary to the main chain is a promising method for achieving such requirements,” said EEA Executive Director Ron Resnick. “I would like to thank Banco Santander, ConsenSys, iExec, Intel, Microsoft, Oracalize, SmartContract and all the EEA members that provided contributions to this important specification.

oracalize is chainlink. Imagine that...your competitors oracles are so centralized you need to integrate chainlink instead of building your own decentralized oracle. standard is right.

To be fair they plan on adding other oracle solutions and just becoming a provider. However, at the moment the only solution is unironically chainlink. Anyone who's done some research knows this.

WHO CARES! The oraclize/chainlink "provable tech" is just one piece of many to this puzzle. It shouldn't be a Chainlink vs. Oraclize showdown. It shouldn't be a chainlink Vs Augur showdown, or a chainlink vs augur vs oraclize vs witnet ETC. ETC. ETC! The oracle problem is such a deep intrinsic issue to not just the space of crypto but to all of human nature. Putting Data on-chain in a trustless way is a problem that will always exist in this technology until we have some sort of Artificial intelligence that can accurately witness and report real world events. I mean this problem is so deep that there is even talks of not only decentralizing certain aspects of an oracle provider, but also pulling data from MULTIPLE oracle providers!
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! ORACLIZE AND CHAINLINK! STOP THE FUCKIN BLIND CHAINLINK FANATICISM AND LOOK AT THIS ISSUE OBJECTIVELY! Chainlink is not the be-all end-all solution to this problem. The only REAL excitement to come from Chainlink is not how they handle decentralizing their oracles but THE TOKEN ECONOMICS AND THE TOKENS USECASE IN PROVIDING A FORM OF INSURANCE TO CONTRACT CREATORS AND ITS ABILITY TO MAKE YOU MONEY FROM STAKING! THATS IT! CHAINLINK IS FAR FROM SOLVING ANY ORACLE PROBLEM AND IT IS NOT A MAGICAL "GOD PROTOCOL" AND WE SHOULD BE ROOTING FOR EVERY SOLUTION AS IT IS BENEFICIAL TO THIS SPACE AS A WHOLE.

ALSO, LEVERAGE SOME OF YOUR MONEY INTO ETHEREUM YOU FUCKS! Rant over.
