Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

THREADLY REMINDER THAT DIVIDENDS ARE YOUR FREN

Unless you're retiring in the next 2-5 years, you should welcome a nice, healthy correction in the market. However you shouldn't sell and wait for it, the curve inversion only lasted 2-3 days, which is unusual and strong profits and low unemployment are signs of strengths. There needs to be more of a catalyst than a "trade war" that has relatively low affects on the overall economy. Even the student loan bubble popping would have minimal effects because the government backs all student loans. if someone could point me to data that shows we're in a massive bubble I'd love to read it, but even the high valuations for companies are justified due to their actual earnings, which is a farcry from the bloated P/Es of the nasdaq bubble.

Although I've started putting more cash aside, I am still dollar cost averaging into this market into companies I believe are undervalued and are defensive companies that fare better in recessions while also increasing their dividend. history tells me this will pay off well

On March 23, 2016, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Guy Gentile, a resident of Putnam Valley, New York, with perpetrating penny stock manipulation schemes. The SEC alleges that Gentile, who at the relevant time owned and operated a registered broker-dealer based in Carmel, New York, engaged in manipulative trading, provided illegal kick-backs, and distributed promotional mailings of glossy "newsletters" with fake publication names like "Stock Trend Report" and "Global Investor Watch," in order to tout the stocks of purported gold and silver exploration company Raven Gold Corporation (OTC:RVNG) and natural gas production company Kentucky USA Energy (OTC:KYUS). The newsletters misled investors with purportedly positive - but fake - price and volume trends for these stocks and other false information about the promoters' identity, compensation, and control of the stock. In reality, most of the touted market activity was generated by Gentile and his associates who controlled large blocks of the companies' stocks. Last year, the SEC charged attorney Adam Gottbetter for his role in the KYUS scheme, as well as Canadian stock promoters Mike Taxon and Itamar Cohen for their roles in the RVNG and KYUS schemes.

The shorts thought it was going bankrupt. Its not. You can listen to even the previous conference call back in February and see they are already doing well towards recovering from the Levothyroxine loss and are paying down their debt. By 2020 they will have replaced the lost profit.

This is a severely undervalued company as a result of overshorting. This is the type of stuff you want to be buying and holding. They will be forced to cover because its not anywhere near as bad as they needed it to be.

Yesterday the gold stocks got clobbered. The TV said it was an upside reversal but that's all a buncha nonsense. It's not a reversal if it doesn't close green. But of course CNBC doesn't know that. You know back in 06-07 they used to call me up all the time. But now they don't have me on anymore because I'm bad TV. You know what's bad TV? Being a permabull! That's what's bad TV. Just take a look at their ratings! Back when they used to have me on people would call me all the time and they'd say hey I watched your show and you really changed my mind. I used to be a socialist and now I'm a libertarian. Anyway if you have any friends who don't know me yet tell them to subscribe to my YouTube channel. Oh and by the way subscribe to my son's twitter feed. He posts links all the time.
By the way the AOC or the bartender as I like to call her posted yesterday that the fed should really keep their mind open for MMT! This is what's left of America? Just print money? Who gave this bartender the power to print dollars? First of all is it even constitutional? It's not interstate commerce so if they want to interpret the constitution even more then may as well rewrite it to how they like. This isn't the United States of America but the People's republic of America.

basically unless you like to do differential equations, you can just use pic related (the Compound interest formulas) to calculate how much your investment would make (youll need to make an assumption of "average" market return(or maybe minimum return needed?))
then do it again with your loan payments, just plop a negative sign in the "r" value
then compare the two with different rates or time periods, and plan for risk accordingly, and finally see if its something that is achievable

incredibly, calculus (derivatives) is the study of rates of change

and in finance there is usually at least one rate of change you want to be moving as much as possible...

also you cant properly do statistics or probability without evaluating some integrals, two fields that also help with finance (and game theory in general)

Given that the FDA is wanting to help generic drugs get out faster, seems like good sailing. It's undervalued so long term it's great.

> the high valuations for companies are justified due to their actual earnings, which is a farcry from the bloated P/Es of the nasdaq bubble.

Why do Americans not get maths? P/E is a ratio. There are high P/Es now similar to dot-com levels. You can't justify that by saying earnings are high - prices are proportionately high too
