i haven't tried it yet because i thought it was just another onions burger. but looking into it:

Water, Pea Protein Isolate, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Contains 2% or less of the following: Cellulose from Bamboo, Methylcellulose, Potato Starch, Natural Flavor, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Salt, Sunflower Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Dried Yeast, Gum Arabic, Citrus Extract (to protect quality), Ascorbic Acid (to maintain color), Beet Juice Extract (for color), Acetic Acid, Succinic Acid, Modified Food Starch, Annatto (for color).

All ingredients from Non-GMO sources

this is a vastly superior option to onions burgers, at least on paper. i will have to try it.

Plant oils are bad for health, I personally feel like dying after eating them to any capacity - especially the ones high in polyunsaturates. Otherwise, the ingredients don't look bad for a processed food product - was actually plesantly surprised at that while being an almost-carnivore person looking for holes in this product.
It even has yeast for some nice b vitamins

As for the actual valuation of the company it’s tough to say, it is valued currently at some insane X revenue it has. Sugar and starch are added.

Beyond Meat is junk food. Ultra-processed

...

Humans like sugar too, but that’s because concentrated sources of sugar are rare in nature, so we need to be able to detect small amounts of it. What’s going on with today’s sugary foods is a supernormal stimulus, in which our taste receptors and neurons are stimulated by something that could not exist in nature.[ii] I could give you another example of a supernormal stimulus that’s sexual in nature – hint: it’s on computers everywhere.)

It's cheaper than real meat but it's a bunch of Ultra-processed ingredients (seed oils and sugar) with far better profit margins than meat but terrible for you health-wise.

Basically, invest of the gullibility if neopeasants to not investigate ingredients in favor of moral trends and use the profits to eat actual meat.

Doesn't sound like defensible profits for a company. Imho this stuff gets commoditized easily and in a few years and then dozens of companies will be selling these including many supermarkets with their private label driving profit margins extremely low..

I tried the burger last year. Smelled like Spam but doesn't taste any thing like it (I like Spam) most of a similar taste to say old alfalfa sprouts and the texture is softer than Spam but not a lot, put me off.

Ate an Impossible slider last night and that was much better. The texture was more like beef and slight taste of beef but it was barely there so it would be a better replacement imo. Still has more calories and probably fat than a regular patty though. If this will be their final product forever, I can live with it though even they suggest to not eat it more than twice a week.

It's not about all or nothing anon. It's about choosing to live in the way that causes the least harm to other living things. Eating plants kills less plants at the end of the day too, because far more crops are grown to make animal feed than what a human would need to consume to get the equivalent calories and nutrients.

There's nothing wrong with someone that believes all life should be respected if a person has a choice between causing more harm or less harm. That's literally all it is.
