I was just reading some economic research all about how these guys made bubbles in a lab setting, they included a lot of data about them and all. My point is that it is literally never coming back. It can't.
What they found was that bubbles were always created by the participation of inexperienced traders, and that when people had the opportunity to learn, they made trades far more consistent with fundamentals.
Now I understand btc has fuzzy fundamentals but even so the idea of repeating the bubble is a fantasy at best.
Think about what the market was like at that time. It was filled with people who had no idea what they were doing. They have zero experience in any capital market. Now, they've seen it inflate and pop, they've learned a bit, and won't trade past realistic values.
Maybe you're thinking: a new group of dumb buyers can come in. And that is possible. But the old, experienced group keeps prices down. This is why stock market bubbles are relatively uncommon - happening when there are inexperienced participants, ie, ninja mortgages and dotcom era (unless the pros let it happen to get rich, which does happen, but that's another story). It's why volatility decreases over time, too.

Here's the paper if you care to read it.

By definition, "the participation of inexperienced traders" depends on how many additional inexperienced traders are left. A bubble that hasn't reached a systemic level can always be fueled by more inexperienced traders, unless new laws or regulations are made that prevent new inexperienced traders from participating.

The crypto bubble never reached a systemic level, and there seems to be more political will in letting crypto grow than killing it (because people are still greedy). So, the bubble will return at least one more time.

What a cope. We never run out of idiots. It's that the more times you have a bubble, the more people are familiar with them. So those who got shit on in this last bubble will join the ranks of old and prevent a bubble from forming in the future by selling. Just throwing in some buzzword makes it no different.
Read the paper I linked, they do exactly what you say cannot happen in a lab setting. Spoiler: the bubble doesn't form again.
