I got venmo today to pay someone at a garage sale. I didn't realize how good P2P payment like this is now. I can't believe anyone on rebbit thinks the main value proposition is feelessness and speed. Please don't be holding cryptocurrency because it's a better P2P value transfer mechanism. You're retarded if you think that. Maybe bitcoin had an advantage at this 10 years ago, but today it just seems dumb, and since 99% of people have no issue with the Fed or fiat currencies there seems to be little chance people are going to ever want to "pay with crypto" or think fiat isn't sufficient in a first world country with a highly developed financial system.

You're right 99% of the people have no issue with the fed or fiat, the only thing is that it's the 1% that do the ones who really matter

They are only being nice because they are still new.
It's a paypal company and once they have a good user base, I bet they will become just like Paypal. You can talk to any eBay seller to hear about Paypal horror stories.

Honestly when I realized what Venmo was and that most of my co-workers were already using it -and preferred it to actual cash- is when I realized crypto has no use case other than an over rated database.

Hi anon, because you are cute I want to explain some things to you.

When you pay someone with Venmo, it takes around 24 hours for that money to transfer. Because that creates a shitty product experience, Venmo gives access to money immediately, and that is a liability. Plenty of fraud occurs because of this and PayPal in general (who owns Venmo) suffers billions of dollars a year because of this. Crypto can actually be instant, and even the slowest crypto’s are much faster and therefore much less costly than current technology.

Crypto isn’t going to get adopted because low IQ people like you think it’s better than other things. You are not the target audience, and your lack of comprehension of simple things like how fund transfers even function makes you a poor customer for tech like that. PayPal on the other hand, and every major company in the world who will increase profit margins by 20% or more due to crypto adoption, do make good customers.

While your experience won’t change and you’ll still think you have transferred money instantly (probably you won’t have - most crypto blocks do take at least a few minutes if not an hour or so to complete), PayPal will adopt a layer of blockchain technology to reduce their liability and costs. They might even place Venmo on the blockchain instead of creating a wholly different product.

Oh, also, crypto is much cheaper to actually process payments. Even though Venmo is free for you, PayPal pays for each transfer. With crypto, they will pay much less.

No worries, anon. We can’t all have brains in our head, and I’m happy to help you.

More like 10% of the globe, ie the west. Everyone else cannot wait for the hegemony to fall.
