Anyone try one of those bootcamp/fulltime immersive tech programs where they teach you a hard skill (coding, web design, UX etc.) in like 12 weeks? How'd it go?

I know a guy who dropped out of consulting after one year, was unemployed for six months, went to a coding bootcamp and now he's making at least $200k working for Reddit

i did one. actually learned a tremendous amount but i had some programming experience. had a really hard time getting a foot in the door which pushed me into freelancing. overall okay experience. just keep in mind that anything they'll teach you can learn for free on your own these days. and 12 weeks isn't enough time to master shit, expect to be coding daily and cranking out complete projects for at least a year.

It's not worth it if you don't have connections. I went to one, and while I learned a lot, I would have to say that two-thirds of the students there were literally rich trust fund babies that were looking for something to do, while the rest of the people there were desperate Millennials trying to find a job. After completing the program, I spend a year applying to about 2000 jobs and couldn't get shit because I wasn't an Indian that they could take advantage of, or that I had no connections. I learned an important life lesson. No matter how much you know, the guy with friends will always get the job over you. Smh.

I know a guy who literally never coded a day in his life, did a 6 month bootcamp and now he's CTO for a blockchain company. Can't remember the name, but the CEO is a philosophy major and their office is a nail salon.

Yeah did a web programming one
2 months and 8 weeks divided between html/css/javascript/php/premiere/photoshop and some other shit. Final project had to create a website, host it and have some measure of functional programming. The quality of instruction was excellent but nothing that couldnt be learned on w3schools+youtube
