In /cng/ we discuss node, api's, hardware, cloud computing services, and anything else related to node operations

The "fix" for accessing the node dashboard on AWS is to use the official docs. If you follow Fiews or Linkpool's docs, they'll have you set up the node insecurely, without HTTPS by default. The fixes you link to enable insecure connections.

Linkpool also offers EaaS

What kind of monthly costs do you guys expect for using AWS for your node, using Fiews for an EaaS backup, and using CLC for API?

How confident are we on the node requirements? The leading factor here is running a fully validated Eth node. This medium post (pic related) concludes some higher reqs than what you have in the OP.

so I was thinking yesterday while I was wagecuckin about local storage for geth node. I think I have an answer for anons wanting to run it locally
setup your os on a lvm. that way when you start to see your hard drive space about to fill up, you can add another drive and extend your home partition to the new drive without having to worry about migrating the data to a bigger drive down the road.

going by pure personal anecdotal evidence.
I don't have time right now for going through that article but is it showing a full or light node requirements? because we just have to run a light node for Chainlink

How will the ROI of running a node impact the ROI of lending LINK for margin trading? Like if you were trying to decide if you should stake your LINK in a pool or offer it as collateral on whatever exchange?

Full parity node. What you're saying is not correct, Hodges has said in the past if you want your node to be worth shit you need a full node. I'll get some evidence in a minute of him saying this.

What he has said in the past is a light node would be fine for test net but when you're on mainnet and competing for jobs/reliability, you need a full node. Let me dig through the shithole that is reddit for a minute to get a source on that.

No problem at all were all learning here. Here's some source anyway:

https://old.reddit.com/r/Chainlink/comments/ag9z2x/is_an_ethereum_light_node_enough_for_chainlink/

So basically he says you can run a light node, but you may be placing yourself at a disadvantage. vornth is based Thomas for anyone who doesn't know.

As an aside to this, trawling through his comment history is actually a pretty good way to find out shit about this kind of thing. I've spoken to him on this topic briefly in private messages too
