All doomfags aside, when do you think it's a good time to load up on some shares of short ETFs?

I'm thinking about adding some SQQQ to my boomerfolio. Price seems to have dropped substantially since inception and accompanied by that is high volume lately. My theory is the shares are cheap enough now, people are buying it as insurance since "the market is over due for a crash/correction".

Good idea?

Just keep in mind that SQQQ and any levereged etf is designed to lose long term. If you play it you need to enter for a specific reason with a specific exit price. It is a poor choice for boomerfolio of set and forget, it is a hands on property.

I just bought 100 call contracts of SQQQ. I plan to sell them after earnings blood flows. I think there will be a hang up in the China talks. If I am wrong and earnings go sideways while China deal gets done I will have to wait a while to collect.

A much better move for you may be a silver etf.

I’m mot doubting you do, but are you gambling or trading? Are you aware of what vega, beta, theta, gamma, and rho are? Do you understand the underlyings you are buying options on? Reverse splits, beta slippage, mantience? Can you read a balance sheet/ 10K? Or do you just throw money on the board and hope for a favorable spin? Sounds like you do the latter, go study!
