Bitcoin relies on mining for securing its network. If mining technology doesn't stay powerful and electricity for mining doesn't stay cheap, Bitcoin may have a 51% attack on the horizon.

It's theoretically too much to attack Bitcoin. Every halvening, Bitcoin inflation decreases to make up for the low difficulty. China pools the most hashrate power, so they are securing the network more than anyone else. Can they keep this up forever? China are the whales. I'd be cautious and worry a little if I was anyone, but China. They will be ready when a SHTF scenario were to happen.

Nowhere did I say it was safe. China's not going to 51% attack it. That isn't there goal. Like you said, they could have attacked it by now if those two pools teamed up. They're hoarding the hashpower and the security. That doesn't mean they own the most stash of bitcoins either.

I 'm just pointing out that Bitcoin will need all the new technology to keep up with the increase in demand of miners. That's a problem with relying on mining for security.

If fiat currency fails, guess what will be used? Bitcoin. There would be a war over who controls the production of Bitcoin. I wouldn't be surprised if there are multiple countries working together with China to stay afloat in case of hyperinflation of the US Dollar. China has the edge.

"Those that control the money supply, control the world." If the money used changes to a new form of money, those who control that supply control the world.

It decentralizes bitcoin mining if China bans operations. Difficulty would drop and so would the price. It would open the doors for miners outside of China. Price could drop to $1k over night. To me the question is not whether it goes up or down because of this. My question is why is china such a massive shithole? Is it because it's still socialist communist agenda? They already tried to ban crypto numerous times for whatever reasons. They introduced some shitty social credit system to fuck up the people. They're really trying hard to take away any type of freedom their people have. What a massive shithole.

Price doesnt follow difficulty, its the other way around.
During the time it takes new miners to fill this gap for potential profit, price will increase due to the sudden cut in newly minted coins as well as miners acting as sellers.
Asides the mining side, trading will continue as is always has, mostly OTC, in china.
