>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

I've been calling a February 2021 recession since November of last year, and everything is falling in place:

>yield curve fully inverts almost exactly 2 years before 2/2021
>Trump will likely do everything in his power to prop up the market through the 2020 election (perhaps a few more dinners with Powell)
>Brexit won't happen at this rate, which will begin a brief and undeserved resurgence of interest in Europe and delay the expected 2020 collapse
>Trump's victory in 2020 will cause markets to rally once again before sharply collapsing
>the longer an economy stays bullish, the more irrational its actors become (in other words, all the bears got pushed out of business and only the massive bulls remain, and they'll do everything to deny and delay the reality in front of them).

It just works.

biz, I got a question for ya. What's better:
1) to wageslave for the next 2 years, saving 50 % of my income and investing it after those 2 years... or
2) taking out a loan now and save 2 years of my life waiting.
Presumably I have a working trading system, that is profitable, although not optimized enough yet.

Love it, looks like I was on the money with Ulta. Should’ve got into it 5 years ago when my ex kept asking me to take her there and I heard Jim Crammer™ recommending the stock.

Nike, Lulu, and Canada goose seems like a lot of exposure to clothing. I want to diversify by sector a little bit more than that. I want a fitness play, that’s why planet fitness. Maybe a jewelry or food play? Possibly a shoe play.

Not sure about whiskey. I drink whiskey and people tell me it’s very boomer of me. Do thots still love tequila and flavored vodka?

It depends what people's expectations for revenue are. None of the Canadian weed companies have had great earnings this year. However, I've sworn off betting on weed earnings either way. Too volatile. Odds too high of taking a loss because the dude weed gonna lmao in ways you don't expect.

My dad passed away, unfortunately. My older relatives have enough investments to last them through old age, even with a significant crash.

I have no sympathy for most all boomers. They are incredibly naive and spoiled, especially when it comes to financial or political issues (regardless of their leanings, the stupidity permeates). The few boomers who have some understanding of how the economy and world work tend to live their lives in responsible and sustainable ways, so they should be more equipped to handle choppy market/geopolitical conditions.

A significant downturn (not just in the markets, but in the economy) will of course cause some pain, but I think it can help to shake out some of the weakness in young people and give them good investment opportunities. Beyond a certain age, possibilities for learning and change are basically gone. Thus (to me) most boomers are 'irredeemable' for the possibility of being responsible national and global citizens.

>> No.13103873

>>13103780
I agree with the sentiment, I don’t love to see people suffer, especially old and feeble folks.

But the boomers really did fuck a lot up, preaching peace and love but getting high and achieving nothing worthwhile. They complained about having to get blue collared jobs at a time when those jobs could pay off a mortgage with a comfortable lifestyle.

Then they have the nerve to call younger generations entitled.

>> No.13103878 [DELETED]

>> No.13103919

>>13103873
the political/monetary pain that they continue to inflict on younger generations will continue until they die and even beyond.
Unless politicians and central bankers man up and tell them 'no', unproductive elements will continue to drain capital and opportunities from more productive elements in society in a way that we haven't seen before.

>>13103878
Unfortunately from a political standpoint, it might not be the case that the under 30 yo demographic learns the right lessons from all this. We could end up seeing some modest inflationary actions over the next decade, which will tend to reward the irresponsible (people with big college debts). Also the narratives are already building up about how automation is the reason young people don't have jobs, or whatever other scapegoats they have to blame. People again won't be able to realize the way that problems in their life are caused by government and monetary policy because they aren't capable of understanding these things.
If you can't change them or teach them, might as well enter economic positions that hedge the ignorance of the populace and willingness of politicians and others to cater to that ignorance.

when you really work with a knife and sharpen it day in day out it's actually amazing.... i gave a new knife to my favorite sushi chef as a gift for his birthday last year. he appreciated it very much and when i went back he still had his old knife and while using the new knife he said to me, baggie this was my old knife and how thin the blade had become from it's 8+ years of constant sharpen and work was kind of awe inspiring... and that's why that man truly appreciates me and always wants to make sure i am feeling better when i leave his bar than when i walked in.
