Hey /biz/ I have a dumb question about puts. Basically I bought a put for gamestop (GME), getting that it would go down to 10.50 by 3/22. It was at 11 or something when I bought it, and the put contract cost .05×100, so $5. So now that Gamestop is below $10.50, my put is worth $.20. I could either sell it for a $15 profit, or my understanding is, I could also sell 100 shares of GME at $10.50 even though the price is lower, like if it went to $10 I could make like 50 bucks, right? But the thing I don't get is how do I actually get those shares--do I need to have 100 shares of GME stock beforehand, or do I buy and sell at the same time?
