first, you need to get out of your blockchain mindset. Holochain isn't a blockchain, it is holochain. The main difference is that holochain is distributed while blockchain is roughly decentralized(picrelated).

Picture it this way, you can create a certain colony when you create an happ which will let you interact with those who wants to interact with you, with out being directly connected with the rest of the ecosystem(this is why the fudders tell you there is no global consensus. It is true, it is designed this way). But do you see where this is going now? Which thing we use everyday also grows in a biological-social way, by creating colonies and organism while having a strong interaction feature? You guessed it, the internet. This is way you might have seen some anons shilling holochain as the internet 4.0. It's actually the goal of the project.
