Anyone on /biz/ finding success with social media ads, SEO, consulting, etc?

My story:
> Went on upwork.com looking for the low pay gigs of people wanting facebook ads for like $100
> submitted proposals to all of them
> Land one. Create basic Facebook ad I learned how to make from a few youtube videos
> Campaign does well, gets the lawyer $12 quality leads. Earns me $200.
> Make a generic sales screenshare/video of me showing the success I brought this law firm, and the rest of the 5 minute video explains what Facebook ads are and how I can duplicate these results with other firms
> Find other lawyers in my area on Google and Yelp
> Send the video link via message and generic script to every law firm on the first page of both
> 1hr later I get a call
> They're ready to pay me to start right away. $1000/mo

Your story is highly motivational, I might do the same for social media marketing. But what do you mean the lawyer got $12 quality leads while you got $200? I'ved create Facebook ads in the past for a client, but I never managed to get a single lead that could convert to a customer.
