U.N. Owen is a reference to the Agatha Christie book And Then There Were None. "U.N. Owen" is pronounced like "unknown," and was used as an alias by a mysterious host who invited 10 strangers to a mansion on Soldier Island. Through the course of the story, each guest is accused of murder, and eventually dies edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

That's actually what will hurt the market. If the jobs report is strong and especially if wage increases beat, the markets will bleed. This is because labor costs will be priced into inflation which in turn will signal a higher chance of a rate hike by the fed. As of now, the market is pricing in zero rate hikes for 2019 and rate cuts in 2020. I believe the February flash crash we saw in 2018 was caused by a similar event - hot inflation.

The VIX might be gearing up for a shot at the 24 mark to fill in the gap it made early this year. This is further supported by the stochastic and stochastic RSI readings of the SPY on a weekly and daily level. Weekly looks like a repeat of the February and October dives. The SPY has also just back-tested (and got rejected to the downside) the logarithmic support line it was held up by since the 2009 bottom

>Caporella’s rant did not specify exactly what injustice caused National Beverage to sell fewer cans of flavored sparkling water than was expected. Instead, he moved on an awkward metaphor, comparing his job of managing a company that sells packaged drinks to caring for a disabled person.

>“Managing a brand is not so different from caring for someone who becomes handicapped,” Caporella said. “Brands do not see or hear, so they are at the mercy of their owners or care providers who must preserve the dignity and special character that the brand exemplifies.”

It's more important that the stocks pays regular dividends. Look for companies that never missed a payment and barely cut it in bad times. High divy stocks can be a huge trap.
>"do I already own a company in that industry"
That's not enough diversification. Is all your money invested mostly in one country? How about other assets? Being 100% in stocks is barely diversification at all.

Obviously China is gonna die within 2 years, thanks to shadow banking, excess stimulus, corruption, etc. My question is, how is the EU over? I didn't see news because I'm retarded, but what's going on? I know Italy is in recession, with the IMF highlighting the fact that China/Italy could both be triggers for another global recession, especially considering Southeast Asian troubles (Indonesian Rupiah) and continued trade problems.

I have some thicc cash stacks, so I'm just wondering when to dump it into my IRA.

They are slaughtering retail shorts on the open. I've been on the getting slaughtered side enough to recognize all the signs. Market looks like it should obviously go down, weak pre-market, open, everything dips, people load up short, goes higher, stops some people out, dicks around and convinces others to hold just a little longer, goes higher, dicks around, draws shorts back in, higher...and higher...and just repeating that process. For sure, as I now have come to understand it, there is an enormous incentive if you can do it for slaughtering the average retail trader. They're understandable and predictable. At the bare minimum if you want to short with size you're going to actually end up with the liquidity you're seeking and at a better price once everyone reverses from their short to their long. Retail will chase price lower and quickly bail out as it goes higher...a few will hang on, but they'll eventually bail too. Then with almost 100% certainty, if you're at a "technical level" that all of retail is watching, they'll reverse and go long and provide you the liquidity to go short higher than if you would have just joined in with the mob and now you have the added benefit of those retail longs being trapped and very likely holding for even longer because they were wrong going short, so now they HAVE to be right going long.

-3.5K in medicare taxes

The goal has to be to find something that is lucrative (sounds like you found it), scalable (maybe you found it), skill based where compensation grows with skill (maybe you found it), and that you enjoy doing; or even if you fucking hate it, you just can't stop yourself from doing it (this one is a little more complex). This ended up being trading for me. I don't even know if I like it. I guess I have to like it on some level, but if you asked me if I would recommend someone else to do it, I'd say no.

If you told me to discuss it, the conversation would have a much more negative tone than a positive one. But every day I wake up and I do it. I read about it all the time. I watch videos on it. I'm compelled to do it. I'm compelled to get better. It's like a hot chick you hate, but you just can't stop fucking her because if you keep fucking her eventually other hot chicks will enter the room (and you'll hate them too, but at least there's more). If you found something like that, there is no retirement to even daydream about, you just daydream about getting bigger.

I'd suggest reading up on it. For bills they pull the discounted amount from your bank account and return the face value. So for $1k let's say, you'd send them something like $994.50 and get back $1,000 at maturity. There are weekly auctions with certain terms auctioned on certain days. You'd enter a noncompetitive bid, then when the competitive major institutions decide on a rate you get the highest bid rate basically. It can be automated to an extent with what's called laddering and also reinvesting proceeds; a lot online about that stuff.

FIZZ is absolutely based when it comes to press releases. Their CEO is something else. Here's another.

>FIZZ revenues have grown 60% over the last ten years – ALL ORGANIC GROWTH – NO ACQUISITIONS! Organic growth has now ACCELERATED!

>What’s creating the volatility relative to the stock market with FIZZ? Today less than 15% of the daily volume traded on major exchanges is financially driven by company fundamentals. Over 50% of all daily exchange volume is driven by traders gambling on fleeting price moves and stocks paired with derivatives.

>Are perpetrators stimulating self-serving movement by stating falsehoods, creating rumors and deliberately manipulating FIZZ value? We think so!

>THE CERTIFIED TRUTH:

>First quarter 2018 - BEST EVER!
>Second quarter growth – STEADFAST!
>Annual revenues have now exceeded $900 million dollars! One billion target now approaching!
>Trailing Twelve Month operating margin increases!
>Consumer excitement is fueled by LaCroix’s new flavor, Key Lime, Canadian launch and new flavor introductions for Club and Drug channels!
>No TYPICAL beverage company is delivering the fundamental financial performance of FIZZ!

>FIZZ extraordinary fundamentals reflect STRONG SUSTAINED PERFORMANCE! Are high-frequency trading, BOT stampeded results, inflated short positions and . . . current world anxiety – stimulating strange and unprecedented circumstances?

>THE OBSCURE SILVER LINING IS A UNIQUELY-INDUCED OPPORTUNITY.

>If you have the opinion that I, Nick A. Caporella, am angrily exercised while extremely fortunate to be guiding FIZZ, your opinion is quite accurate!”
