Stern got started with the help of his father who was a big shot in radio. That got him far enough to where he could hire talented people like Billy West and Jackie Martling who made the show what it is. Stern himself is incredibly vile and untalented which could be seen as soon as Artie, the last funny person on the show, was fired.
