12853435 No.12853435 [Reply] [Original]

>“Those who regularly preach doom because of government budget deficits (as I regularly did myself for many years) might note that our country’s national debt has increased roughly 400-fold during the last of my 77-year periods,” Buffett writes.

>“That’s 40,000%! Suppose you had foreseen this increase and panicked at the prospect of runaway deficits and a worthless currency. To ‘protect’ yourself, you might have eschewed stocks and opted instead to buy [3.25] ounces of gold with your $114.75.

>“And what would that supposed protection have delivered? You would now have an asset worth about $4,200, less than 1% of what would have been realized from a simple unmanaged investment in American business. The magical metal was no match for the American mettle.”

That's wrong tho... You should be swapping between commodities and stocks based on cycles :
lets say you had 1 DJI in 2000
AUG 2001 you convert your 1 DJI into Silver.
1DJI = 14078 USD
1oz Silver = 5.94
so you buy 2370 ounces of silver
April 2011 you decide its time to go back, you get your 2370 ounces and buy DJI
APR 2011
DJI = 14039 USD (interesting huh? Almost like you wasted a fooking decade betting on America losing on inflation )
Silver = 54.28 USD
so 2370 x 54.28 / 14039 = 9.163302229503526 = 9 DJIs give or take commission for 2200 usd
now even if you want to exit markets today and retire DJI is around 25k
9 * 25 000 = 225 000 USD

My point is if you are stuck to one asset group you will have serious drawbacks years but if you swap from market to market based on simple market charting you can quit any time being in more bullish asset which clearly is not always stock index

>That's wrong, all you had to do was time travel to 2019 to see the highs and lows of the stock market and then go back in time and then act accordingly

Wow man like no one has ever thought of this, where I can wire you my entire life savings into your time travel mutual fund?

It's widely used in industry and jewelry, has a 5000+ year history of being good money, central banks hold a shit ton, can't easily be found or recreated, and there's lots of evidence of paper market manipulation to suppress the price. But okay hold onto your boomer fantasy where America will always grow exponentially despite the obvious bubble that's already popped.

>> No.12853830

>>12853814
All you said is almost true, but you missed King Boomer's point. Note how he makes emphasis of his 77 years of life. If your investment plan takes longer than 77 fucking years to outperform the market then your investment plan is BULLSHIT.

Right now you are sitting hoping that the day when Gold becomes dominant will be in your lifetime but the odds are still that in 77 years you'll be in Buffet's position saying the exact same thing. I mean, I know that value investing is all about the long term but I am not waiting for 100 years for my investment to make a profit.

There's nothing hard or time travelling about my numbers. I unironically use this method to pick my assets that's why Im investing 2:1 commodities to stocks rn. Stocks are more of a hedge about being too early but whether you like it or not. They're not always the best way to invest clearly.

If you are right, congrats. But all the people that have jumped off buildings also had a method. But well, given that you are very certain of your method I hope you are getting your hands on all the loans you can get and doing 1000x leverage because it is free money at this point.

The US dollar won't be the world's reserve currency in the year 2096
It won't take anywhere near 77 years for the debt to suddenly "matter"
I give it 5 years max before shit hits the fan. Plenty of super sharp fund managers see the writing on the wall.

And there's no reason to lever up bcs for now I can't master the tip of the dip and being too early is same as being wrong.

I see your point.
Keep in mind, this is a revolution dressed up like a get rich quick scheme. Greed will drive adoption. Eventually, the butcher that takes BTC will be able to undercut the butcher that doesn't.

ETH has a better chance of outperforming USD, by bridging the gap through the volatility, with DEX's and stablecoins backed by ETH but pegged to USD or gold or any arbitrary commodity, when a correction is due.
