If you are going to sleep on the floor, be sure to prop your mattress up on its side during the day to properly air it.

An interesting alternative that I use instead of a mattress on the floor is a yoga mat; easy to roll up after sleep, and they are cleanable.

And for those of you not here from r9k - after sexy times you can wipe the wet spot off a yoga mat so you aren't sleeping in the damp.
