If you didn't start learning how to code and use linux during middle school, then you will never get a job in the tech industry and might as well pursue some other degree.

The blackpill is that with enough time and resources, nothing on the internet is private. You cannot eliminate residual risk. The internet in its current form is tearing society apart. It was never built with privacy in mind. I think that ransomware is only the beginning. I think that blackmailware, extortionware, kidnapware, murderware, rapeware, are all possible with AI/blockchain technology. I noticed a large increase in cryptomining malware during the bull run. I think that this will happen again when the next bullrun hits. You won't just be trying to secure your IT systems from nation states, cyber mafias, three letter agencies, or gifted individuals, you will also have to secure them against AI Threat Actors. I think that at a certain point the cost to maintain and secure the systems will be more than the value that they provide, and you will need to just decommission your systems to stay secure. I think this is happening already. Companies are now decommissioning applications that are non-compliant, as non-compliant apps are too great a risk to an organization, if they are only going to get bricked by malware and all of the data on them stolen and used against you.

The whitepill is that I have hope that the internet will be replaced by the Metanet, and that all of the applications will be hosted there instead. I think that the internet needs to be overhauled, but there is a plan to do that.

An other reason why our mode of production is obsolete.

If a great technology like the internet cannot express it's full potential because individuals will try to make $$ stealing data, then the problem is not the internet, the problem is money in itself.

>> No.12571120

On the internet, people 'steal data' for shit and giggles and to stir trouble. The problem is fun/power hierarchies itself. Those have to be eliminated.

I would recommend that you learn how to protect your electronic identity first. Almost every operation regarding business and finances involves using the internet these days. And in my practice there are few places that could compete in insecurity with the world wide web. Billions of dollars are stole every year by hackers using different scams, some even ridiculous but people get caught in these traps because of the lack of information. Stay safe people! Hope you succeed with college.
