This. Especially if the 2020 US election has a lot of people campaigning with federal legal on their platform. I think both parties understand it will probably pull a decent contingent of voters they may not otherwise be able to get. It was likely one of the reasons Justin Trudeau won a majority government rather than squeaking out a minority in Canadian 2015 election. Trudeau would have won regardless for lack of competition but not so decisively.
