>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, stop making the general with trips, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Except options always lose theta value over time and they're often sold with the volatility baked in. You can't hold them and wait for a random spike like you can with penny stocks, because even if a spike does occur you'd have to pray its large enough to offset the time value lost, otherwise theres no profit. Like in order to profit with options buying consistently you gotta pray for macroeconomic snafus that cause extra unexpected volatility and then be right about the direction the stock moves on top of that. Its possible to win, but its not a game worth playing in the long run.

Unless you're talking about writing options. Theres a lot of money to be made in that, but you need to have a decent amount of money on the line in order to write options that people will actually want to buy. And we're all broke LARPers here.

sometimes governments fail, anon..

Speaking of which, an excellent article from market watch this morning.
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/watch-these-3-areas-to-tell-when-chinas-hard-landing-is-near-2019-01-13

some highlights:
>Apple is too big not be affected by the ongoing global economic slowdown. When a company creates a premium product — the most expensive and arguably the best phones on the market — it will see slowing demand every time the global economy slows. Ask any luxury brand what happens to their sales in a recession, and you will hear that high-end brands tend to suffer the most.
>Moreover, China is a major area of expansion for Apple. The weakening of the Chinese economy was happening before the trade friction intensified, and if one reads Apple’s news release carefully and sees all the Tim Cook interviews, it’s not hard to conclude that the trade war is a catalyst but not a cause of Apple’s sales miss. If China’s economy does decelerate quite bit more notably, it would be definitely hit Apple’s shares harder.
>The Chinese have created a credit bubble similar to the credit bubble a lot of Asian countries experienced in the 1990s that culminated in the Asian Crisis in 1997-1998. As the Chinese economy has grown from a little over $1 trillion in the year 2000 to likely close to $13 trillion in 2018, the total credit in the Chinese financial system is up over 40-fold, if one counts the infamous unregulated shadow banking leverage. That has taken the total debt-to-GDP ratio from 100% to over 400% in just 18 years. This is a very similar dynamic to what most Asian countries experienced before the Asian Crisis.

>>12438439
more highlights
>The trillion-dollar question is when will the Chinese recession strike? The reason why so many analysts and strategists have been early (i.e., since 2010) in calling for a recession in China is their lending quota business, which Chinese authorities have perfected in using their economic expansion for 25 years.
>The PBOC issued new lending quotas in November and announced cuts in reserve requirements for Chinese banks earlier this month. The required reserve ratio for banks will drop by 0.5 percentage point on Jan. 15 and a further 0.5 percentage point on Jan. 25. The cut will release a net 800 billion yuan ($116 billion) of liquidity according to the People’s Bank of China. The bet is that with credit multiplier effects associated with fractional reserve banking, this move will have a positive and lasting economic effect.
>Chinese monetary interventions of the sort we have seen in the past two months are beginning to remind me of the old “kicking of the can down to road”. None of this fixes the problem of too much borrowing in the Chinese economy, but offers another band-aid solution. It does buy the Chinese authorities time to ponder a way out of this mess, which is precisely the way to make the mess much bigger.
>Since China is a hybrid economy of government control combined with free enterprise, officials there think they can eliminate the economic cycle — but they can’t.
>History has shown that extreme monetary policy of the type we have in China today is that it tends to lose efficacy over time. The more indebted the system is, the less effective more lending is.

I'm speaking from experience. I used to trade pennies. It's something everyone should do because it teaches you how to trade in the worst conditions. Look, you have the mentality of a penny "investor." It's called chasing the dragon. You had one or two random luck moon shots with a penny stock and now you can't help but try to do it again. It really is like a drug addiction. People think to themselves that because they don't have much capital that this is how they have to play the market but it isn't. What ends up happening is people get attached to stocks and end up bagholders. Isn't that right, big5guy?

to tie both of these predictions together:
i think maybe one more day of this gap down overnight, go long on the bell bizness, then there will be a shakeout of sorts down below my short EMA there (sub 255 at least), likely till the end of the week. it will recover dramatically either on end of friday or beginning of next week. this will begin our slow steady crawl upwards back to around 268-270, which we will bounce off of hard and plummet back to make new lows

>which would mean we're in for another slight correction of around 20%.
eventually, but not yet

i see a good area for them to fake out retail (many of whom ARE short rn), get them to pile in (push back below 255), then they can squeeze them to get a nice run back up to 270ish, all the while, using this squeeze to sell the rest of their trapped positions and/or build massive short positions for the next huge correction

i know this will happen because retail literally cannot ever be right. the reason is because opposing retail en masse is whats been fueling these dramatic volatile moves this last year when we all get BTFO by large banks and hedgies. theyve been doing this to bully us and make up for the fact that the market underperformed last year. it also lines up perfectly with the theory that the massive popularization of RH last few yeas has been to get someone dumb enough in here so that they can bet in opposition. the volume reflects this too. many retailers went short term and got BTFO by being indecisive with their short term positions. these panic sells/short coverings are WHY its been s much more volatile. theyre just leading us along so they have someone to keep the price stable while they take positions

at last i truly see

This really seems to bother you--like, a very considerable amount and well beyond a rational response.

In what universe do you suppose that anyone teaching finance or writing about it would think to include trivia-tier information about illiquid pink sheets and the market caps you can sometimes find there? Frankly, such markets deserve nothing more than a hand waving dismissal on the basis that they're illiquid, lack transparency, and and far more susceptible to manipulation than exchange-listed securities. In fact, having no knowledge of pink sheets would in no way be a detriment to someone's money-making endeavors on actual markets. But for some reason, this trivia seems to be a huge--rather, an essential--sticking point for you.

thats because i make alot of money in pink sheets.. i have a company that deals with the financing of pink sheets and just about everything i learned about the financial markets has come from dealing with people behind the scenes of corporations.. the companies are small and if you are interested in them feel free to call the CEO or any of the board of directors sometimes even their legal counsel.. they're actually more transparent than what you may think and you can learn a lot by getting involved with them.. A lot of time if you call the CEO the number is just their cell phone number and they are usually more than happy to talk to you about the company

Is having daughters the ultimate cuckoldry?

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than having a daughter. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are feeding, clothing, raising and rearing a girl for at least 18 years solely so she can go and get ravaged by another man. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little girl - reading her stories at bedtime, making her go to sports practice, making sure she had a healthy diet, educating her, playing with her. All of it has one simple result: her body is more enjoyable for the men that will eventually fuck her in every hole.
Raised the perfect girl? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random man who had nothing to do with the way she grew up, who marries her. He gets to fuck her tight pussy every night. He gets the benefits of her kind and sweet personality that came from the way you raised her.
As a man who has a daughter, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 years of your life simply to raise a girl for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically
