bears HUMILIATED and EMASCULATED yet again edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, RKG is a healthlet, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

I guess I'm still looking for more info or analysis on which to make a decision, but I suspect I have all the info and analysis I'm going to get. Been obsessively researching and following this stock the last year. I'm unsure about the weight on the scales on sentiment traders (selling) vs value traders + buyback (buying). Price graph is behaving in an ambiguous way. Volatility is way down and signs are that most big holders who would sell have done so, but it still in a downwards channel. At some point the selling is largely done and this shit will go ballistic over 2019 and 2020.

assuming university, then yes absolutely do it
ultimate resume tiebreaker that trumps any extra class combinations you can take
not to mention any future lucrative values from the impact of research outcome
>I'm taking classes for my major, and auditing the ones I think are interesting, that may not directly lead to career.
commendable, you should be learning something new every day, no matter how old or young, no matter how educated or ignorant you are

>If you have any tips of how to find a career to pursue, that would be greatly appreciated. Ideally I don't want to just pick some career that will pay, I'd like to enjoy my job as well.
not really besides co-op matters more than any class as far as actually getting a job

at this point after being unemployed for 3 months halfway through senior year, ill take any job that pays more than minimum, career path or not
bills dont wait while you future improve earnings potential

also, system controls class, studying frequency domain and responses, helped change perspective more than any pure math class ever did

quality control class too to a lessor extent, since it never got into any derivations or mathematical proofs (only a 200 level weeder-course)

Exactly, which is why you should always buy the market because it has historically always trended higher. Even if it takes 100 years for it to come back, it will eventually come back. Always dollar cost average and buy the dips. When the market is going down it's the perfect time to buy because everything is on sale and when the market is going up it's the perfect time to buy because everything is strong! >Would you say undergrad research will be more or less valuable than internships/co-ops?
depends on the research, depends on the internships/co-ops
if its a good internship/co-op, like dream job, dream pay, or company that only hires from within (that is good) then they may have the edge

undergrad research, if promising research, can help you stand out with access to limited knowledge that general public does not understand as well
and it is by default, something that all graduates cannot qualify to do

but if its research in meme-tier bs, or not at all related to job you are applying for, then it can be less profitable in the long run

rare(new) research experience is greater than common internship
good(rare) internship is better than common research experience

a few recent articles about columbia destroying record high levels of coca fields (thanks to american money) and further agreements between USA and columbia to continue doing this

more coca producing land was lost in columbia this year than peru's total coca producing area (although production per acre has increased throughout 2018)

a BBC article is the most recent to come to mind, but i have no idea how quick supply changes affect drug costs for the end-user

Alright, thanks. I've got this sequence of classes that seem closest to what you described I'll try and audit/check out if I have time.

MAE 143A. Signals and Systems (4)

Dynamic modeling and vector differential equations. Concepts of state, input, output. Linearization around equilibria. Laplace transform, solutions to ODEs. Transfer functions and convolution representation of dynamic systems. Discrete signals, difference equations, z-transform. Continuous and discrete Fourier transform. Prerequisites: Math 20D or 21D, Math 20E, Math 18 or 20F or 31AH, and MAE 105, or consent of instructor.

MAE 143B. Linear Control (4)

Analysis and design of feedback systems in the frequency domain. Transfer functions. Time response specifications. PID controllers and Ziegler-Nichols tuning. Stability via Routh-Hurwitz test. Root locus method. Frequence response: Bode and Nyquist diagrams. Dynamic compensators, phase-lead and phase-lag. Actuator saturation and integrator wind-up. Prerequisites: MAE 143A or consent of instructor.

Thanks for advice regarding research and internships as well, I'll keep it in mind going forward.

>not really down with all the new degeneracy when you're 40, so become "conservative"
>don't want to make any rollback of the degeneracy you promoted that enables the new degeneracy
