premarket gap down followed by green opening edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, Ratsu is very intelligent, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

the reason many people lose money on the stock market is because it's impossible to really know what's going to happen next
if you buy good, proven companies and dollar cost average over time, then it's hard to lose

no one knows. Literally, no one knows and can't know. We can just look at the now and hope we guess correctly.

>is now a bad time to start putting money in
see above, you can't really time the market. If you buy too early you do what's known as "catching a falling knife". Too late and you miss the bottom.

The best strategy is to buy into the stocks you want to purchase over a period of time, known as "dollar cost averaging'. That way any rapid fluctuations in price are averaged out.

personally, I would wait a bit more before putting any cheddar on the table.

exactly

use short term hedge to cushion yourself in downturns, but sell them for profit when you can, use profit to either buy more long term cheapies when they dip, or buy more hedges when the hedgies get to a cheaper price to buy in

imagine one is a sine wave, one is a cosine wave
buy the dip, sell the peak, of each one (one thing's dip will be roughly equal to the other thing;s peak)

The inverse etfs are great for day trading when you have pdt and less than 25k.
Lock in gains by buying the equivalent of the inverse as opposed to selling what you have that day and getting flagged. Buy more of the initial investment to go long again. Next day sell and buy in the opposite direction. This works great for eod exiting index positions when you don't want your account to lock up.

If this anon is still here, I believe this how many people use the Volume Profile (and, to an extent, the Market Profile) to help determine how to position themselves.

The Value Area on a Volume Profile is where the highest percentage of trading has taken place (usually something like 70%).

Points of Control (those red lines) are prices which most of the trading has taken place, in a given Session. They can act as Support/Resistance.

>How is this any different than trading waves on jnug/dust or spxl or spxs?
it isnt, except you never sell the DIA shares
its basically a handicapped ETF/inverse EFT juggling act, where you wont make as much as a pure juggling act in a sideways market, but you will make more if market is slowly moving in the right direction (up in DIA's example)

its safer long term, but less potential profits, and just like everything else, it does not work 100% of the time

I'm a bit confused, GALT has failed to meet their primary endpoints for their NASH-related trials. Why would you have confidence in that? There are other NASH solutions out there that have faired better...

>> No.12315694

>>12315676
NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) is a very common and often symptomless disease caused by the buildup of fat in the liver. In some cases, people with NAFLD will develop NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis), in which inflammation and liver cell damage are present in addition to the buildup of fat in the liver. In its later stages, people with NASH can develop fibrosis (scarring) in their livers, which can in severe cases progress to liver cirrhosis, an extremely serious and life-threatening condition. The NASH market is forecasted to be worth $20-$35 billion dollars by 2025, and most large players in the NASH space (MDGL, ICPT, VKTX, etc) are focused on treating fibrosis and preventing progression to cirrhosis. One example of a company focused primarily on treating cirrhosis, however, is GALT.

>> No.12315701

>>12315694
GALT's sole competitors in the NASH cirrhosis space are CNAT and Gilead. CNAT missed primary endpoints in its most recent clinical trial, and Gilead's NASH drug has shown mixed results in clinical trials. GALT's primary drug of interest, GR-MD-02, works by inhibiting the action of galectin-3, a molecule implicated in a wide variety of diseases, including NASH, cancer, fibrosis, endometriosis, and asthma. In a phase 2 clinical trial of GR-MD-02 for the treatment of NASH cirrhosis, GR-MD-02 showed a statistically significant and promising effect in the reduction of hepatocyte ballooning (occurs when hepatocytes, a type of liver cell, increase in size and then explode and die) and in preventing the formation of esophageal varices (enlarged veins in the esophagus that can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding). It did, however, miss its primary endpoint in the reduction of HVPG (hepatic venous pressure gradient). This may have occured due to an error in trial design. Per recently published FDA guidelines, phase 2 NASH clinical trials should last 12-18 months, which GALT's trial did not. Additionally, its effects in the reduction of hepatocyte ballooning and preventing the formation of esophageal varices were promising enough that GALT has moved onto Phase 3 clinical trials in NASH. In addition to NASH, GR-MD-02 has shown promising results in the treatment of melanoma and head and neck cancer, significant increasing Keytruda's response rate in a recent combination trial. GR-MD-02 is safe (producing little to no significant side effects) and relatively inexpensive to produce (being derived from apple pectin).
