What does each aspect of business think of each other? Do different concentrations have different stereotypes? Suicidal HR employee here. Why does everyone from marketing look so happy?

Because we're the outward face of the company. We have to look happy and confident or no one makes any schekels. If we don't keep it sexy no one gets to eat.

In mutual fund management, fund accountants are just fucking incompetent retards. They burn through them like it's nobody's business, and they only actually work like 4 hours a day.

As a software developer, I fucking hate working with HR. Any other department that has a requirement will actively tell you exactly what they want from it and exactly how they expect the software to get to the end result.

But every fucking time I've worked with any HR, they seem to love giving nothing but vague ideas and absolving themselves of all responsibility for how their dumb idea should actually work. Then when our best guess isn't what they want, they throw a hissyfit and STILL don't give any clue to what they actually want.

You guys are assholes

I can see that. Everyone is super vague in HR because they are afraid of being responsible for anything. Hell, I refuse to email anything to anyone because I never want anything in writing to be used against me.

Makes it hard because the software guys want anything in writing for all the reasons I listed. Honestly, sorry you have to deal with us in HR.

A Boomer manager with ADHD and little to no understanding of the software development lifecycle. All I get are vague impressions of what needs to be made and just when I think I'm getting close, the "done" standard has been changed and I'm left scrambling to figure out wtf to do. It's infuriating.
