Canopy Growth put out a news release this morning that I think got overlooked a bit during all the mania today. They're buying out Storz & Bickel for $220m.

Storz & Bickel is a German company, best known for manufacturing dry media vaporizers like the Volcano and handheld Mighty. They were the go-to vaporizer brand before Arizer hit the scene with versions that (arguably) worked just as well for around 40% cheaper retail price. If Canopy had bought out Arizer instead, I think that would have been much bigger news. Nevertheless, S&B is a quality dry vape manufacturer with a good international reputation and a solid get for Canopy.

not for a good reason, pardon the long answer. i sold some old mutual funds and consolidated all of my investments under Vanguard, leaving me with about $75K cash. i decided, rather than just index it, i would have fun and build a custom portfolio, focused on dividends and diversified by payment date. i want to get a dividend every day, so that no matter what, i'm getting paid every day just for investing. since i had no individual stocks i started from scratch.

i polled my friends and told them i'd buy 100 shares or approximately $5K worth of whatever they told me to, without contesting it. friend #1 works for iron mountain as an art handler. so he picked IRM, and I bought the shares.

what's their future? if i knew i would sell, or double down. :)
