They unironically have a shitload of work to do before main-net is possible. Look at all the "service agreement" and "multi-account wallet tasks" they have, not to mention all the bugs etc. they keep adding.

If I had to guess, main-net could happen in February/March 2019 at this rate.

What are your thoughts?

It should take as long as needed to get it right and to have day 1 volume. I think your guess is as good as any.

honestyl, I could seem announce mainnet launch around the new year. SHould only be a couple more weeks of UI improvements because code is already under audit I believe.

Brace yourselves marines, heavy artillery incoming. I have info about the code audit, there were some severe structural problems (think security) that went under the radar, effectively gutting the main functionality for the time being while those issues get ironed out, but it's probably a pretty heavy setback, so I'm quite pessimistic for the short term. If the damage is as severe as I expect we will see Mainnet Sept. 2019. In these trying times we must remember not to listen to that voice that says "Sell those stinky old linkies."

What about those other tasks I mentioned though? Do they either:

A) not need those yet for main-net OR
B) have them completed just not inputted?

Who gives a fuck. This shit is dead for fucking years. Go back to the 2001 crash and check how long it took Microsoft to regain ath, and that's one of the best companies in the world. BTC will never hit ath again. Time before a bull market is one thing they are not lacking

I work on the project, it's screwed big time. I've wasted so much time and effort, we are trying to fix things asap

it was confirmed officially that the code is under audit. in order for an audit to happen, there needs to be a freeze in the development of a release.
they are also shifting priorities to ui and bug fixing. in any project that's a tell tale sign that we're reaching a milestone.

Check under Epics on the pivotal tracker. Hover over them and they give you an estimated completion date. Most are before or around mid december. Obviously there could be bugs with those assessments, but it does for sure indicate the creators of the pivotal tracker site understood how long these coding tasks take to complete and they programmed it into their estimation system.

Which reminds me, didn't Steve Ellis and someone else work for pivotal tracker? I'm 99% sure I heard this but I could be mistaken. Makes sense tho. A before EOY launch seems likely. If not, then definitely no later than end of January, just from looking at the pivotal tracker and the furious pace at which the team is able to complete tasks.

Do you really? Wow, this just proves my point, that the team would be fucking around on 4chan at such a critical point in the project.

The estimated completion date is a sham because it uses the estimated points of a story to figure out how long it would take to complete that story - they haven't estimated any points for icebox tasks in either of the two major epics still waiting to be completed.
