OK, only because it's been a while since I've been on here, I've got some free time, and I too once asked strangers for advice on how to get by in life without getting a "REAL" job—even if it meant making minimum wage and got absolutely no helpful advice from anyone on here.

If you're not cool with just "getting by" and living in a small affordable apartment and not indulging in anything (basically: roof, tv, just enough food, and internet) then just say so and I won't waste my time or yours giving you MY advice, and telling you MY story of how I went from working 12 hours a day to making money on MY own terms.

SPOILER ALERT THOUGH! (Eventually you come full circle and actually end up putting more time and effort into your hustles than if you had a real job. However, for me, it just feels right. Like I'm in control. Nobody can fire me. I consider myself as being able to GET money and not necessarily MAKE money.)

My personal plan is suck it up and work for about 10 years, buying a family sized house after about 5, renting part of it out to a friend and using the rent to pay the mortgage while I save to buy another house. After I can fully rent out the second house I should be well on my way to financial independence since other people are paying off my mortgages.

Eventually I'll buy a small apartment for myself and rent out the first house completely.

I'm working fulltime while living with my parents in order to get enough money to pay off half of a family house though.

Well in a nutshell, I always remember some shit my grandfather always used to say: "the secret to making 50 dollars a day is to make 10 dollars five times a day."

And I know, no shit. But there's some wisdom there when you think about it. How would you go about making $10 five times a day? Or 10 times a day and make $100?

It can be as simple as driving for a ride-sharing company and just pacing yourself until you meet your small goals. Or, you can stand outside a church and panhandle until you reach your goal. You can buy low and sell at a profit until you meet your goal. Whatever, as long as your goal is both obtainable, and you have the motivation to go out and do whatever to get it.


FOR EXAMPLE. I work out my monthly nut to:

>1200-rent

>200-gas

>60-car insurance

>200-food

>150-utilities

>300-misc

>=$2,110/15 days=$140
$140/$10=14 ten dollar bills every day for half of a month.

The reason I stop at 15 days is in case I don't clear my daily goal. If I don't then I take what I didn't make and divide that by my remaining days and add it to my daily goal. If I go over, then I take THAT, also divide it by my remaining days and then subtract that number from my daily goal... and so on..

I know it sounds stupid. But when you break it down like this, I'm telling you, the world doesn't look so scary. Now, I'm not gonna lie, I've dipped into some petty illegal ways of making money (nothing a cop would give a shit about, but I'm still not gonna go into detail about it on here. But think less drug dealer and more ticket scalper..THAT'S NOT WHAT I DO THOUGH! JUST AN EXAMPLE! In fact what I do is probably LESS illegal than that.)
