unironically yes and no. if they are in a desirable location with a good school and are generally in a location where people want to live then you probably wont loose money and probably make respectable gains when you upgrade. If you buy one out in a commuter community they WILL go down in value in the next crash. Houses are not investments but whats the point of money if you don't live better.
