Highschoolers tend to be much more socially homogenized these days due to the internet. You don't get any pockets of culture. Every kid plays fortnite, every kids pays $500 for skins, etc.

The conforming aspect of modern high school is huge. You don't even see weird offshoots that much that dress differently. Also kids all over USA dress the same due to keeping with trends online.

The segmentation only happens with regards to "fandoms" these days it seems but even those follow the same patterns and don't result in much attempt at differing personalities.
