It was real easy... buy shit wholesale from them, sell it around town for a profit, and make large $$$$. What could be wrong with that, right?

Except....

1. To get into it, you had to send them $200 to become an "official seller". I know it doesn't sound like much now, but in the late 80's, $200 was a lot of money for someone making slightly above the $4.25 minimum wage.

2. So I send the money, I get the catalog, and there's some cool stuff but a lot of bullshit stuff no one would ever want. Then I was walking through meijers late one night, and saw practically everything in the catalog... on sale for far less than "members" were being charged to buy from this company.

Translation.... thank you for playing idiot, fuck you.

The dream of making it in crypto was literally the only thing I had going for me. Now that it's not possible anymore, I can't think of a single thing worth living for anymore. I might stick it out until I get inheritance money from my parents, since they're rich, but that's probably not going to happen for at least another 30 years at this point. I feel like I lucked out. I cashed out throughout all of 2017 and 2018 to pay off debts and buy a house. I had 250k at one point but I only cashed out like a third of it but it's better than nothing. It gave me several years head start on life and I'm happy for it.
