>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

The stock market is already winning big from abuse of old statistical theories and methods dating back to the 50s with current technology. Neural nets, regressions, classifications, etc. arent new at all. All of that stuff that seems new to you has been baked in for years at this point. There is no 'going up from advancements in ML' at this point unless we see people develop an interest in moving the field itself instead of simply rehashing the known ideas. Also what we are actually tracking at this point is expected improvements in processor speeds and their ability to exploit ideas we already know in ML.

Everything you said is mostly correct and within my predictions. There is a bit of innovation going on within ML though in terms of optimizations and some slight architecture changes.

Still a small changeover in Alphago for example in RNN and a simpler 2 headed approach let it teach itself and beat the previous version easily.

It's very hard to not be bullish when most predictions have been beaten in the field by in some cases 20-100 years. Waymo could easily succeed and be in 5-10 states by 2020.

As for RSI
The meme says to use the last 14 days to calculate it
I use Market watch's charts to view my stock
If i use the advance chart and set it to the 1 month interval does the RSI calculated use the last 14 days or the whole month?
Also where can i f8nd charts that use a 14 day interval for the RSI?

14 day interval is the standard RSI setting. If you add RSI to your chart in tradingview it defaults to that. No need to fiddle. In fact I strongly recommend you don't fiddle with the RSI settings as part of the value of that indicator is knowing when other people think the stock is overbought/oversold. Typically the daily candle timeframe is most commonly used reference point for overbought/oversold conditions unless you're a day trader using it on the 1hour.

Uh... I'm not sure what you mean by setting the interval to one month. RSI uses a default interval of 14, which is 14 of whatever candle duration you have chosen. On 1day candle duration (otherwise known as the 'daily') the RSI will calculate based on the 14 days/14 candles. RSI will change according to chosen candle length, which is why you get a different RSI reading on the the 1hour chart or the 30 minute chart or the weekly chart etc.

First, use candlesticks for your chart. Set candles to 1 day. That means each candle represents 1 trading day. The number of candles showing up on your screen does not matter. It's the candle duration that's important. You can zoom way out on the 1day candle chart and view several months of history, the RSI will stay the same. It will only change if you increase or decrease the period of each candle (1hour, 4hour, 1 day, 1 week, etc).

Exactly, the timing of 2003 vs 2000 presents a big difference. There are more periods of time since 2000 that can give us a similar difference. Why should anyone believe that the stock market isn't at another tipping point. There is a lot of talk about this bubble bursting within a year. The big drop would surely wipe out principle and gains between now and then. Consistently investing is irrelevant considering you could do that anyway outside the stock market.

you completely ignored the fact that for almost 2 full decades the market has been making 20%+ annually if you actually invest into it

there has been talk about a bear market for years and years and its still never come

when it does all it does is allow even cheaper prices for me to buy at while you stay scared about where is the bottom, then once you miss it you will avoid buying the entire time we go up yet again and wait for ANOTHER bear market and you wont buy anything for 3 decades but will hold cash, while i have made 90%+ of my entire portfolio off interest alone and you serve me fries at McDonalds

this is exactly what you are asking your life to be if you continue to refuse to ever invest anything

Well I don't think it'll happen. I read the earnings report. They are ramping up shit for the mass rollout of the drug. Spending $$ in preparation. No sane company would do that (spend money) on something unless they were damn sure the product was good. The finding release is I think, more of a marketing tactic than anything else, a way to get the public and investor's attention focused on the company and drug. It would not be a surprise if they got a buyout offer or two soon after the fact. This is a small company (50 people give or take) so being bought by one of the big boys to help really sell the drug would make a lot of since.

Its not really. The total market ETF has exposure to more mid cap and small cap equities which have higher potential for growth (with higher risk though). SPY is somewhat safer since it's mostly large cap but over time they have both performed pretty much equally and VTI is cheaper.

and the SP500 is as diversified as you can get man, your literally owning FIVE HUNDRED different companies, and market weighted by how good they actually are at making money

the POINT of index funds is to give you diversity without you personally having to worry about it, the reason SPY exists is so you can buy it and say 'my risk is managed correctly' and not have to do anything else

EU is like USA was when we had the articles of confederation, instead of our current constitution
nothing got done and shit was awful, so we abolished the government, and made a new one

because total market is a drag down on s&p most of the time, if you are talking about a worldwide index fund

it may not be a drag in the future, but it has been for many years in the past

pic related, and US market was only 46% of worlds market in 2012 ( im not sure what it is this year)

europe would be better off if they do form one, but i have no doubt that people would get thrown under the bus in the process though

and as an american the longer they stay divided, the better off america will be (because geopolitics+nationalism is cancer in the modern world)

EU or NATO should have invited russia to join in the 90's, president clinton might have missed a big opportunity there, we could have had a modern day four sheriffs scenario, with more global stability
