Escaping the rat race edition

Some Investment Required($1k-10k)
>ATMs
>POS Systems
>Slumlording
>Daytrading
>P2P Lending
>Authoring or Online publishing

Feel free to add more and share your knowledge, experience, advice with others, but I think that's a lot of value that you won't find in most threads here.

A lot of my special sauce is how I come up with good keywords. That's probably what I've spent the most time on of all. I have a script that looks at certain content I think is a good barometer of what people are interested in then it distills that content down to the phrases that best characterizes it. I run those through a traffic tester thingy and the best ones are what I use. It could probably be done more simply but that works for me. Also the program you join with may even have a list of good keywords anybody can use. Don't get put off by the fact the keywords are public in that case. It's all about how you use them.
>>11629670
My shilling is based on whatever the program I join is offering. I mainly deal in specific products though not intangibles. But any site with a program you can join is good. If the city's site has something where they pay for visitors and you can get in then go at it but I don't have any experience in that area.

I'm in several programs but only as fodder for my comparison sites. The big ecommerce platforms like Amazon and eBay are all you really need as they sell everything and everybody shops there. If you do a comparison site though like https://www.compare99.com/ (not mine, just an example), you'll need a few different sites to "compare" or Google will see through the ruse and deindex you. Other than those kinds of situations, you'll find one or two programs that work for you and probably not look much further.
As an example, it's like exchanges. You can get on Binance, Hitbtc, Bittrex, cryptopia, Coinex, C-Cex, and so on but you'll probably only make real money on one or two. But the one or two will be different for everybody based on your style. So sign with some different programs and see what resonates.
You will need an email address and domain name but the email address is the only thing that you will need to keep. Whatever domain name you sign up with can lapse and the program won't care. If that's what you're asking.

I don't think I can answer you but Twitch is a new way to go for building a community. You just need to be active and have a niche, don't be discouraged by low views. It's another thing that requires time and effort of course. Befriending other artists following complimenting helps build you up.

Yeah but like are you a smart musician?
A smart musician would hire themselves as a contractor and do work on like childrens tv shows as a house band or video game soundtracks or DJ at weddings with bonus live instruments or do TV commercial audio work.
If you can't play like 5 instruments minimum, record and produce everything solo, play like at least 10 genres/styles of music, DJ music beyond your 10 genres, and get booked at venues and concerts for like coffeehouses and restaurants with live bands then you are never going to make it.

They gotta buy something but here's the trick. It doesn't matter if they buy what they clicked on. When they click, they get your cookie so if they buy anything at all on the site within 24 hours you get the commission. Even if they leave and come back later. That's why it's all about traffic. Just get them to click on your ads. It's up to the ecommerce platform to convert and believe me, Amazon is damn good at converting people.

Make a soundtrack thats corporatively sound and atmospheric for commercial purposes
Make lounge music for venues
Make band music for concerts
Thats literally it.
You can do session recordings, you can do concerts, you can do contract work, you can do it analog or digital, doesnt matter but people aren't going to pay you to tune your guitar unless you look like Johnny Depp, so if you want to become a rock star go ahead, otherwise you will always be a house musician who does what theyre told.

It's almost a mathematical certainty that 1:10 people on your site will click an ad. I don't care what the site looks like (within reason). If you get 10 visitors, 1 will click and for every 10 that click you should get a conversion. That's the math I've seen for the years I've put into this.

Soundcloud is for strip mall rappers.
Seriously man all the money is in the videogame and commercial industry, movie sound tracks etc.
If you want to make it big just start hanging out with the guys who do concerts and are rich. Get them to follow you and instagram and enter the life of jealousy hunting and eventually you will impress someone who gets you a gig even if your music fucking sucks.
You will never EVER get a concert stadium crowd unless you suck the devils dick.
Thats how it goes.
If you really want to fast track your career just start soliciting record labels with some lipstick on, I'm not even joking.
Do you know Lyor Cohen?
He made every gangster rapper in the industry suck his shmeckle for the shekel.. and you have to do it too if you want to become the next Miley Cyrus.
I used to do concert security work. I met all the guys from One Direction when I did security for Justin Bieber. Almost met Bieber too.
Listen to me man they all were like 17 years old smoking cigarettes like a trucker.
These guys get abused by the record industry execs to get famous.
Its the only way in. You have to rub shoulders and asscheeks with some rich old faggot at the board executive room if you want to sell tickets.
Good luck competing with the controlled music top 40 charts without selling your soul.

Fuck dude the liberal cities are insane with taxes. I smoked until I quit about a year ago. Here in CA, packs just went up to between 7 and 9 dollars. I visited New York about 4 years ago and it was 12 bucks a pack! Seriously taxes are insane and now they enact rules where you can't even smoke outside downtown. It's fucked up. Honestly most smokers I have met are very polite and try and not smoke around people. They will always be kind and have a convo with you and even pay you to bum a cig. I used to always give them one free tho. Packs online can cost about 30 to 40 bucks. I've read that Somalis used to do this hustle. They'd drive across state lines and sell them.

Betting a good habit/hobby if you are intelligent.
Too many intelligent people dismissed gambling but they only blind themselves to the talent of betting.
I used to bet on pro CSGO games and it was wicked fun.
I wish that shit was still alive. I should probably get into betting on real sports instead of Esports or something but I'm not a normie who watches anything in the pro sports leagues. Twitch once again. Using a combination of music or irl category channels. You need a good combo of sharing music, making a beat live, and communication with audience. It helps if you have a method of making music that is unlike what other people are doing. And being able to play something video game or normie related.

The only flaw is between talking and music. You gotta find the right balance. Content vs answering questions. Exploit irl or creative, til you get some people. You can get affiliated with twitch in under a month and 20? Hours per week of streaming. I forget. Doing music puts you MILES ahead of fortnight or variety streamers who aren't taking it seriously. Oh and you have to keep it SJW friendly, for the most part. But you can do this!

YouTube streaming works too, but that's more for successful YouTubers. Twitch gives low viewers a chance. I personally only watch low viewcount until they grow to 80+ There are some fantastic streamers who don't go beyond 10 because they are lazy shits who don't take it seriously. You gotta play the game, promote, social mediA, Reddit. Be on schedule.

Good luck to you. I suggest you check out any thread on blackhatworld that mentions "authority sites" and "authority site case study", also any posts by a user called "basstrackerboats". You're gonna have to weed through a bunch of shit info, but there is real info in there.

I have a friend that writes blogs on a niche subject in audio tech. The thing this guy does is to never compromise on ethics and hardly even monetise until he has many users (I actually think he is too strict). He is still beaten on all the big keywords by the usual large authority sites (tomshardware etc etc), but his long tail keyword results at least bring in $1000 or more per month. The way he reached this level is by being obsessive about the subject, and putting A LOT of work into it.

In my experience, make sure that there is a clear plan in place to monetise your niche. IE you can make money "easily" by writing about laser detectors for cars, or IP camera reviews. But it is way harder to make money from a site talking about which chicken breeds are good for meat vs egg-laying.

The crazy part is that finally after the past 2/3 years companies have discovered just how much money is in this market and over the past year or so has generated the influx of things like loot boxes, chat donations, etc. where money is literally just thrown to the wind by consumers.

The fact that ESPN will now have to bend the knee and air tournaments is hilarious because 5 years ago people were like "this will never happen" but there is just so much money in the digital world.

Think of every step you take from start to finish when making a site. Picking a domain name, registering the name, getting hosting and telling the host what it needs to know for your site, pointing the registrar to the correct dns servers, uploading whatever framework you're using to the host, getting your content and inputting the content on your site, then doing the SEO work so Google knows your site exists and what it's about.
Picture that process. Now picture a Python script doing it all for you. Then again and again ad infinitum.
That's how I make so many sites. Yes they are shitty and no I don't care cuz they make money. The myth that a site needs to be high quality or even low/medium quality to make money is just that. A myth.

so ideally as a beginner, if i'm reading your stuff correctly.

i have my niche. I write 4-5 long word articles about stuff i know. Get my .com address. I get a host and use wordpress and build the style up. Throw up all the articles. Have everything fully functional with clickable pages. Then publish, wait a few days/weeks. Get a VPS and buy up a few more domains. Build 4-10 more AM niche-specific type sites.

All while shitting, sleeping, breathing, AM/niches/webdev/seo/python/html5 over and over for months. until i can, evolve OUT of wordpress and just use Python and w/e to fluently start creating absolute shit websites with some degree of expertise?

if i'm getting the gist of it, i'm gonna buy the domain/wordpress right now. If not then I'm gonna keep researching/reading blackhat.

That's kind of the gist. Not exactly how I do it. I'd add make sure you find some back link service (they're free) that will spam back links for you. That way Google knows you exist. It's spam and it's low quality but *surprise* this doesn't really matter. Also make sure your blog posts have a shitton of ads and basically everything people click should take them somewhere to buy. I'm sure you've been to some sites where ads are literally everywhere and you're like "what the fuck is this?" Well those sites exist cuz they make money. Plenty of people click those ads. We don't cuz we know better but most people are dumb.
The rest is you finding your exact system. It'll involve programming as you obviously have figured out. It'll also involve you figuring out the details that matter and the ones that don't. But that takes experience. You have a good starting point and if what you try doesn't work within a couple of months don't get discouraged. Keep trying until something makes a little money then double down on whatever that is.

For hosting, which way you go really depends if you need cpanel or not. If you need it then I'd probably start out with some cheap shared host like bluehost or hawkhost. If you don't need cpanel, VPS will definitely be cheaper as you can pile more sites and the sites will probably run faster too giving you a little more juice with Google. No matter how you start, when you get big you should go either VPS or dedicated. I wish you the best, man. Stick with it and you'll make it.
>>11637995
I've tried both approaches and a lot in between. Yes, a really high quality site will do better the only problem is it's very hard to automate really high quality sites and getting content starts to be expensive the better it is. For the same amount of money I can make 500 shitty sites for a single quality site and the latter sites do not return 500x the money so the path is clear to me. That said, I do experiment from time to time as I'd like to feel like I'm contributing to the betterment of the internet and all that but I haven't found anything that makes enough money. YMMV.

Uhuh. How big was the email list you got from the single site? How many times did you sell people? How many upsells did you have?

Thing is, if you can get an email list of just 2-5k, you'll have A TON of repeat customers if your emails are JUST decent (not even good), and you keep the list alive and active.

While yeah, having 15k websites at once might sound good, it's not very sustainable compared to actually doing affiliate marketing properly; because once they buy those dick pills, they'll also want some guidance on seduction, and how to talk to their partners, how to influence women to sleep with them, how to reliably bring women to orgasm even if they haven't had one before, etc. etc.

You need to keep these things in mind. And obviously, once you make a bunch of cash, you can hire someone to write your promotions.

And given how insanely good you seem to be at boosting traffic to websites... I honestly can't see any obvious, glaring issues that you might have.

Plus your conversions would also be much higher through a newsletter, because people would see your content and self-select to be on the list (e.g. in exchange for a freebie or something).

Give it some thought.

Just to expound on this VPS thing a little bit more and for anybody else reading this, when you put a website up you're gonna have to do some stuff on the host server like make the database, make the directory for your site, set some Apache configuration etc. With a shared host you're gonna get something called cpanel which is a point and click interface that makes all this stuff easy and behind the scenes. If you go VPS you are typically not going to get cpanel which is part of the reason they are cheaper. If you can't set the server up properly by hand then you will need cpanel. When you get big and want to go dedicated, the hosting company can install cpanel for you for a monthly fee.
>>11638191

Where do you find VPS's that are EVER cheaper than shared hosting solutions?

>> No.11638279

>>11638245
Lemme define what I mean by "cheaper". With Linode, I can get a VPS for $5 a month (last I checked) and with Hawkhost I can get shared hosting for like 2 or 3 dollars a month. However! I can pack 5 times as many sites on the VPS vs. the shared host and get equal performance. So when I say it is "cheaper" I mean price per site not necessarily absolute cost. Note also my sites do not run on wordpress or any other fat frameworks since I wrote my own stuff that's basically a collection of PHP scripts and some static HTML. What I wrote does exactly what wordpress used to do for me but with a fraction of the resource usage. I did a few other things to that weren't as easy with WP like some bespoke interlinking etc.

I should mention I measure how many sites I can put up on a host by how long I can go before I get a nastygram from said host telling me I my resource usage is too high so knock it off. After getting hit like that by shared hosting and having the rugged yanked from beneath me, I went to VPS and dedicated. I have never had this issue with the latter two.

Well, you learn the ins and outs about what is selling by checking completed listings on Ebay.
With Brexit, ebay.co.uk is gonna see a boom in sales for stuff actually within the UK.
I always got the cheapest postage prices by going to parcel2go.com.
I would consider reselling of refilling or making OEM toner cartridges for laser printers and the like. Check out ebay.de for "toner chip". I have a feeling they are much cheaper in Germany than the UK for example. And if you get chips, empty toners, plus toner powder from Aliexpress, you can probably make some money. The thing about printer ink is that it moves very fast if you undercut your competition with 5%.
One other thing I did when I was living in the UK: I subscribed to every single freecycler yahoo group in London and filtered the incoming emails for everything related to computer parts to be sent to another inbox. I used to run around London picking up free computer stuff. Best score was about 8 Dell Optiplex that I picked up near Wandsworth. That was an easy...£300 profit or so.

Look I'll explain you a little secret on how to whitelie your way through anything in the planet
Nothing is illegal to sell everything is legal to buy.
If you want to trade something illegal like for example you want to sell alcohol to your neighbors for cash but don't want a liquor licence, just gift it to them and then take money as a gift.
Congrats you literally can now sell anything considering you literally just side stepped the entire transaction by gifting things to eachother instead of buying and selling
Don't even need to pay taxes cuz there is no taxes for giving your neighbor 20$ and him giving you a bottle of wine.

Thank you so much to both of you. You've given me direction. I haven't been this determined to work since I built an ultimate weapon on my favorite MMO(FFXI). This means that I will likely not flake on this project.

I am officially BUSY. Already I've started compiling a shitload of information. And yes, I know it's about providing value and solving problems first and foremost. I'm ready to fail and make mistakes, even lose money. But I'm also connecting the dots here. So far, I have information on webhosts/web design/internet and affiliate marketing/operating as white, grey, and blackhat/SERP/SEO/copywriting/computer science education and software languages/marketing techniques/niches/psychology/CMSs/VPSs/various educational materials and people/methodologies and the list goes on! It's amazing how many disciplines this covers. And while all the information is split across hundreds of websites. I'm typing everything out in google docs, defining, tagging. categorizing everything, properly into my own document. And it's helping me piece shit together. Seriously effective and I am learning super fast now. I'm sure I'll hit a plateau at some point, but to even just get a base understanding of all this shit is HUGE to me.

You guys helped me get the ball rolling. I know it can be thankless helping noobs. They spit in your face, beg, troll, don't say thanks, or ever reply back. I've seen it. And it feels like a wasted effort. You're makin me tear up here. But you guys took time outta your lives to help a buncha struggling, misguided anons out. I can't predict the future, but I hope I can screenshot and share my first payment at least. I can't disappoint you dudes.

I learned from this Australian guy I used to talk to in a Slack group (like discord) who runs a blockchain business/hedge fund/school working with multimillion dollar amounts trading internationally across different bank branches. He gave me all the tools to trade to such a high degree I figured out how to teach people it.
Once you get the skill of day-trading its hard to look at normal people the same way.
Time and money will never return to the meager appearance to you.
