Gold is as rare in the rest of the universe as it is on earth. It's a rare element with very unique properties. You won't find an asteroid filled with gold, you might find an asteroid with gold veins which have to be extracted.
The cost of leaving earth (building rockets and fueling them) is very expensive. Mining gold in space will have extraction costs and will be very expensive.
Asteroid mining will only be done when it's necessary or someone can make good profits. In both cases gold won't become cheap because of it.
It might become cheap if no one needs it anymore or humanity moves on from gold as money. But asteroid mining is not an argument.
