this you can grow like 2lbs of your own weed in a summer with little effort and grow any strain you want and it's fun

Because there can only be one or two companies that consumers rally to. They cant all go up and odds are most will fail, especially since they largely arent prepared for legalization and properly scaled for big time success. Shorting all of them, losing out on the two that make it, and reaping gains on the ones that die is the most rational choice.

yes but how much are tomatoes? are there any tomato stocks going for 50X or 100X earnings? the price of tomatos is irrelevant if you have any kind of job. You can grow your own for free, make friends with people who garden who are literally always trying to give them away or buy them for $1.49 at the store always ripe and perfect.

that is how weed will be, a commodity product nobody is gettin rich off

There is a reason they call it weed lol. Back in the day when weed was illegally grown it was grown in the freaking woods with milkjugs buried for water and only checked on twice a growing season. Or in some other equally shady way

it's literally easier to grow than tomatos, all you need is like a 2x2 foot area of dirt outside or a pot on a balcony. While not literally everyone can do it not everyone has to for it to be cheaper than tomatoes.

What will literally happen is what we would consider mid grade weed now will be all but free. If you are careful or ask around you will literally be able to get all the mids you want for literally free or $200 a year if you are remotely willing to even finance an interested person's growing. After that there will be ever increasing values of weed that have no correlation with reasonableness. You will be able to get what we call seedless indoor grown high grade bud for $50 an oz. and past that will be gourmet weed that has no relation to anything. In the same way there are tons and tons of $1000-5000 a bottle wine there will be weed that is $1000 an oz just for richfags to buy and show off and tell everyone how it tastes like some kind of fancy berry

>again tell me if it was such a worthless space then why did constellation brands put down such a gigantic amount of money on CGC?
Because there is hype and people are freaking out over this new market? I don't know because they thought it was a good idea??

I am not saying it's worthless, someone will come out on top in the premium market. If I were in my 30s-50s and had a good job I would probably smoke about once a week really hard, like get high as balls from about 2p sat till i went to bed and maybe smoke half a joint one night during the week and that would be it. Maybe I would actually only waste half the day like that 2x per month or every other sat. That would be probably smoking less than 1/4oz a month maybe like 1/8th of good good weed. If that's what I were doing I would buy premium weed and not care if it was $100 for an eighth. I am sure a lot of people will be like that. Whole foods sells beer that is literally $7 for a single bottle.

so there will be that market, but I am speaking to the general market, weed will 100% be commoditized like tomatoes or corn or whatever and regular people, people in their early 20s or people who don't have much money will be able to get stoned as all fuck for nearly free if they they put an effort into it.

Again, there are tons of french companies, like literally hundreds, who make $2000+ single bottles of wine. that kind of pricing has no basis in reality but the market is and will be there

but all this "weed stocks are the next Apple" bullshit will stop and is predicated on people thinking weed is $100 for a quarter oz because that was it's felony growing price

Tell me how much you think good weed will be per oz when all this happens, I am saying good weed will be $50 an oz. And only gourmet richfag nonsense weed will cost more. Once there is a race to the bottom everyone will see how easy it is to grow good weed cheaply on a mass scale

I am just using my closet weed as an example of how cheap and easy it is to grow. And I really think you underestimate how good that closet weed can be when you buy good seeds and are careful selecting a monther for cloning. I do not disagree with you. Again I am aware there is $7 a bottle beer at whole foods and $2000 a bottle wine all day long.

but the idea you need a shit tone of billion dollar market cap weed stocks that have zero profits so far and that's the only answer is patently ridicouls. It's preposterous gambling right now. Go look at the early internet people went apeshit pets.com went out of business, go look at the stock chart for GLW for the last 25 years during the time people thought they were going to get glass contracts to run fiber to every house in America

the thing about weed stocks now is it is like internet stocks in the 90s, yeah someone is going to make money off weed, but who and why? It will probably be a company like amazon of weed who sell everything as cheap as possible with free shipping in a race to the bottom who winds up getting rich and the vast majority of these companies who have gone from $0 to tens or hundreds of millions in market cap on no earnings will go out of business because they are simply wrong

I am hoping for the same. I am in my 30s now and feel i am getting old and just cannot wait for this to be resolved as I know it will be. I think that is a realistic time scale but it might take a year or two after that.

I think we need a few more states to go recreational and more spread out like Florida needs to do it then like NY or Vermont or Arizona, then we will have a situation where most people are just a day's drive from legal weed and the other states are just going to have to start ignoring personal possession of a plant that's legal one state over and then there will be a big turning point of govemrent just not effectively giving a fuck about prosecuting people for weed and then there will be a huge turn. I think it will happen pretty quietly overall and it will take longer than I hope, realistically 4-6 years IMO

Why would they need to start over instead of keep selling tobacco and just add weed to their catalog?

>> No.11347795

Why are people so obsessed with the concentrates.

Good weed these days is so fucking good, you can just smoke a few bowls and be cripplingly high

does nobody like smoking actual weed anymore? am i just old?

>Why would they need to start over instead of keep selling tobacco and just add weed to their catalog?
they are just retarded

Why did blockbuster basically choose to go bankrupt when they could have done what netflix did and also kept half their stores open to rent physical video game disks and 4k content and blue ray disks at the same time? Because they were just so retard entrenched in their old mindset the literally could not help it. That's how the tobacco companies are, they more are a tax and blight on society that begrudgingly sells us tobacco than they are innovative nimble companies that could switch to growing weed indoors or whatever. What they are expert at is navigating the byzantine tobacco laws and just existing, it's all they know how to do

I think it's because of the vape nation you can conceal getting high better when dissolving concentrate into vape juice
or the culture of smoking all day everyday 1 dab is faster to do than a joint (plus less smell)

definitely smell and concealment/ blending in thing.

yeah that must be it, I notice that guys in their early 20s who talk about smoking weed don't mean what I mean when I talk about smoking. I want to smoke a bowl after work every other day and then maybe one day of the weekend get high after 4pm and watch a movie.

They want to be high as shit 24/7 on not just marijuana but weed concentrate to get even higher than weed, I was never like that and I wonder if it is a cultural change

I think if you smoke concentrates all day every day it's a different drug fundamentally than if you just smoke a bowl a few times a week

There are only a handful of them and they are being valued at the total value of the market, as they technically have 100% market share right now. They're just overvalued. A lot of them haven't even made a profit yet. Look at the market cap of these companies and ask yourself if you'd buy the whole company for that amount. At one point Tilray was worth $20 billion at market which is about as much as american airlines. Let that sink in.

It's a lot easier to deal with if you don't have a private outdoor spot to smoke (School Dorm, Apartment complex, mums house, etc.)

Way easier to just eat some edibles or drop some concentrate into your tea.

There is limited future in alcohol which is why they're so interested in marijuana. Particularly, infusing it in beverages, because there isn't a future in smoking either - tobacco companies learned that in the 70s. Alcoholism is a problem and you already see people making the comparison all the time, asking why people even drink when they could intoxicate themselves in a less destructive manner.
It's not that it's a worthless market it's that it isn't worth a whole lot yet when sales revenues just aren't coming in.

To me, i like distillate because its always a consistent high and more manageable during a workday. Weed is wayy more variable in the high. I also really like some of the terpenes added, some taste like fucking raspberry jam

Beer brew takes a big investment if you want any decent product you will need gravity testers, multiple carboys, a large propane cooker, wort chiller, the right yeast hops and malt for your brew, the right light and temperature area to store while it ferments not to mention you need to have all that stuff sanitized to the max and timed right while making other wise you end up with some non drinkable vinegar

It’s because that stuff is discrete and can be modified/manipulated in ways that bud cannot be. But none of the highs, from edibles to vapeing to tinctures are the same as straight up smoking flower. they’ll never be able to replace the high from pure bud and thus there will always be a market for top shelf weed.
