I have a shady but loyal childhood friend who is now a criminal. He just got out of jail two months ago and has accumulated what I assume to be $50-60k already.

He wants me to put $5k into stocks/crypto for him. How do I approach this? Obviously I get a return if a profit is made. I'm sure he'll slowly build his portfolio over time also

Bitcoin ATM or meetup for cash. Be careful you don't get hit with money laundering charges. Use sketchy exchange with no KYC to switch to eth and use idex to pick up any tokens you want.

your fren is smart. 5k is only 8% of his total networth, that 8% will yield 80-150% of his current networth. risking 8% to make 150% smart.

You do it, but make a big deal about how time consuming it is and how much knowledge is required to stay on top of it.
You make it sound sketchy but promising
Four options
>Buy it, put it in a mkr/dai leverage loan, make up the rest yourself and have a free gamble
>Buy it and give him the wrong credentials
>Buy it and demand a management fee, he has enough money
>Buy it and be good guy friend by doing nothing
