>having any money on bitfinex
i nope'd the hell out of it right after the august 2017 iota pump and that was already late
for fuck's sake, bitfinex shenanigans have been ongoing for 3 years and exposed for more than a year, and people still hold the live grenade thinking it won't explode because it hasn't blown up yet
phil potter literally exitscammed a few months ago, and you can bet the other bitfinex guys (who aren't just pretend names) have their exit in place as well
crypto is already high risk to start with, you have to be unhinged to hold tether and insane to use bitfinex. worst part is when this blows up we're going straight to sub 1k btc

My only concern is the article is saying no-one can withdraw but also telling you to remove your money.

The sooner tether goes bust and better stablecoins take it's place the better off we are.
The biggest fallicy in crypto is that tether is buying support. It is just another shitcoin users can trade their BTC and paired alts for .

This. Bitfinex tether is just delaying the inevitable flash crash and only the newest of newfags don't realize this.

>>11315361
From what I have been reading this has been a long time in the making. Bitfinex recently lost their banking relationship and the founders have been involved in other shady practices as well.
Currently there is a lot of crypto fleeing from the exchange, 50k+ btc this month alone. Since you can no longer convert to fiat, this is the only way to leave bitfinex.
I hope all anons are getting out as fast as they can, pic related.

fucking retard... jesus fucking christ.
literally just use DAI instead. Its backed by math and game theory, and unlike every single other "stable coin" is actually decentralised and can always be audited on the blockchain

people are waking up to makerdao
once tether explodes and dai maintains its peg through the crash, there will be both power vacuum AND narrative to funnel people to the idea of decentralized stablecoins
in fact it wouldn't be surprising if the recent MKR climb from 1.8 eth to 2.6 eth was tied to tether getting closer to implosion

You are misunderstanding, my main point is that tether going bust would not trigger a crash.
People buying tether is the reason crypto goes down mixed with leveraged futures contracts.
What do you sell into when there is no tether ?
Tether is bad for the market along with any other stablecoin.
