>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Real answer is you are probably better off than most people just investing like that. I've seen these people's portfolios. Most of them are down 50% of their port, and when they break big they peacock because their confidence is so shot that finally getting one thing right makes them feel like a god even though they are still down significantly afterwards. Besides, investing and trading are on two different paths anyway.

I get all my groceries from a sprouts that's just a couple blocks from my house. Their quality is really good and their vegetables are cheaper even than shitty chain groceries. Their dry goods are kind of limited though, and its annoying that they don't stock household goods like most supermarkets, just food. They also have a fuckhuge section of supplements, herbal medicines, and essential oils that seems like it's wasting floor space since I rarely see people in there. They're not entirely like trader jew's, TJ only stocks house brands but sprouts stocks both house products and third party items.

AMD went up because of their CPU success. They have a new instinct line coming out but it's focused on workstation/ML type of stuff to compete with CUDA type things.

Right now AMD is really far behind in AI. Most AI recommendations say to not buy AMD cards because the support is so bad compared to NVDA and everything is built for cuda.

The price drop in AMD definitely has to do with Intel talking about investing more and pushing through 10nm hell.

Blatant lie, anyone with a brain can search for 1070 reviews. 290X, 390X, RX480 and RX580 are roughly the same performance because it's the same architecture and that's why your card still has great driver support; but they're in the ballpark of 1060 6GB performance, not 1070 territory.

Nothing bad for the US. Improved access to Canada’s dairy market for U.S. farmers, stronger intellectual property provisions, tighter rules of origin for auto production and obviously the old NAFTA stuff.

The reason I like Trump though is simply because he's doing this to stir the market, like for example randomly announcing billions of tariffs on allies in the end of a really good month. It creates excitement for every investor and he's doing it all the time. This is also why Trump likes to trash all kind of deals the US has with other countries, because scrapping the deals, letting the market recover and then announcing replacement deals with small benefits will make the market go wild.
Trump went after the arabs again a few days ago, saying that they have to do more to re-pay the amount of protection they get from having the US military as their bodyguards. So we will most likely see more large arms sales in a few months which will bolster the defense stocks.

It's just great stuff.

No. The prices you're seeing on weed stocks right now are based on speculative hype. Once recreational sales begin these stocks are no longer speculative, pump money will take profit, bubble will deflate. Only stellar first quarter sales will get the bulls running again. Or maybe US making more legalization moves, more states going legal, more investments from big alcohol.

Remember we're talking about hype here. I'm not saying the whole thing is going to crash instantly (although it might). Valuations are crazy high already, beyond what would be justifiable from an excellent first year of sales priced in.

First quarter post-legalization sales figures won't be out in an official sense until each company's quarterlies are due. Media will of course do their reports about lineups and estimates right away. The bulls COULD keep running for a couple weeks after the 17th but i wouldn't bet the farm on it. Like i said, take steps to protect profits so you don't get smacked in the face by the great yoinkening of speculative cash followed by retail panic sell off. Look what happened on all the charts last January.

>bleeding edge self driving tech
Negates with overall build quality
>high quality mass scale electric car manufacturing and logistics chain.
My problem with this statement is there's not much quality considering age of their machines compared to Ford or VW
>Musk is all valuable stuff that ford would kill to have.
The thing is Ford can't afford being Tesla though. And what I mean by this Ford or VW would be rekt instant they try to live in negative numbers like Tesla having similar production problems. Recall of a model for VW is nothing compared to recall from Tesla too
>Volkswagen and others will sink a mint into copying Tesla's method and tech, but it will take time to catch up.
It'll also take time to produce VW or Ford tier quality Tesla competitor. As far as I heard at least here in EU used Teslas don't have servicing history so you literally buy mystery box. VW nor Ford can't afford stunts like that and that's why they seem more valuable to me. While Tesla lives on credit money VW is ready to buy more brands for their corp

I honestly personally love the story, I never wanted to see GE go the way of Sears which is what that pussy CEO before was going for selling even electric. That selling all the pieces of the company to soften bankruptcy.

This seems like a passion project because the new guy came from a company he turned into a roaring success, he wants to challenge himself and prove he can restore the good name of GE.

Major downside dangers are that he removes the dividend (although I would agree with this to use the cash to grow), and just people profit taking back down a buck.

To me this would be the perfect set it and forget it 2019 or even 2020 ITM Options Call, though most people here don't just have 500 spare dollars. Just saying.

Tesla has made a lot of mistakes, but they also have the cars that just about every consumer who doesn't want a F150 wants to own.

Their brand value and technical skill means that worst come to worst, Musk can swallow his pride and get another round of capital which he could use to polish the rough edges of their manufacturing process.

The Germans are 2-5 years from mass production of a Tesla competitor on the low end, and 3-10 years from having support/tech infrastructure capable of going toe to toe with Tesla.

Musk's mistakes probably cost the company its opportunity to be a world beating early ford or Standard Oil type titan, but its not dying anytime soon.

Ford could dismantle Tesla if they wanted to, but the vast majority of the general public still doesn’t care about electric cars. Ford might care if Tesla built some sort of affordable pickup truck that had tons of towing capacity that could compete with the F-150, but Ford isn’t losing many customers to Tesla.

You’re acting as if companies like Ford and GM have never invented new and complex components for the automotive industry.

tesla has brand and status advantage over germans in EV tho. they were the first, others are mimicin them, that is an advantage always. people want to drive different cars and even model 3 you are a rarer sight than german cars which every second car are. tesla might be smaller producer in future but it could be a highly valued brand depending on the quality of next generation cars
