Heard about it and got interested around 2011/2012. Even downloaded the mining software but the technical aspects were way too confusing for me so I just never bothered mining. Buying with FIAT back then required some weird fucking hoops too, it wasn't nearly as easy as it is now. So I wasted my opportunity to buy when it was like $10. Oh well, I would have probably sold it when it hit $1k anyway

Back in high school I was shopping on Amazon using the TOR browser. Was only 16 at the time and pretty autistic, so a lot of the time I would transfer BTC to the sites I would use and often have a good bit left over. Thinking nothing of the .25 BTC I never transferred back(even though I didn't even have a private wallet). I easily bet I lost at least 2 BTC. But I've lost tons of money in the past so fuck it.

Maybe for some people back then, cost it $0.10 to mine each bitcoin so they will be selling at $0.20 or even more.

A decade ago I was browsing /g/ and found a thread about the TED Talk about decentralization which was about Bitcoin. That video was informative and got me interested in blockchain technology. Back then I had a really shit laptop and thought it was fun to mine funny internet money.
I earned about a few bitcoin and saved it in a secure wallet which was stored in a flash drive until I met a person online who convinced me to store them on Mt Gox. And that's how I stopped caring about this until a few years later and got back into mining. I was on litecoin and mined 10 in a year but the pool exit scammed out. Again I jumped out.
I came back recently and bought in. Started with 1. 2k and so far im above 900
Been a lurker on biz casually until recently.

2009 spent a few hours configuring mining software on my machine before deciding it was a waste of time and deleted everything. I liked the idea, but didn't think the world was ready for something like bitcoin. been watching it ever since, but was too bitter about missing out on the initial gains to buy in until 2017.

im generally pessimistic of people thinking they're going to find 100x-1000x gains from here on out unless they're willing to wait half a lifetime to get them, but 10-20x is well within the realm of possibility in the medium to long term, and is all but expected given that we're already 3x down from the peak, making that only a 5-6x gain on the ATH.

but for this to happen it can't be from speculators, we're going to need to see actual progress on scaling and integration with traditional instruments or traditional merchants.
