How do I pay off my student loans when I have insecure employment and can barely pay to live?
I want them paid off but it seems like throwing money into a black hole because most of the payments go to interest. You could just pay extra and stipulate the extra all goes to principle, but I can't even pay the standard payment let alone manage that.

Does your shitty country not offer repayment assistance?
I just reapply for it whenever unemployed, only student loan payments I've made were automatically deducted because I was too lazy to reapply, graduated from my program like 3 years ago

America so probably no. I can't even get them to do income based repayment.
>>11232613
Half is in my mom's name, so that would be shitty. And it's not worth giving up american citizenship over the other 25k, if it even works at all.
>>11232594
I know. How do you win a rigged game? Only thing I can think is take a side job in addition to a full time job and put every penny towards this shit, but that's inefficient and exhausting.

No really. Is there a smarter way to do this?
Sent a message for some gig work for side money next week, no-tax cash. These come around now and then but it doesn't make much impact. I really need a better strategy.

Yep, he fell for the meme, after 18 years of brainwashing by parents, counselors, teachers, media, and pretty much everyone ever in his life always telling him to just "do what you love, the money will follow". What a fool, how could he not have seen this coming?
Well, time to pay back that loan that he signed up for at 19 without being taught basic finance, or how compound interest works, or really having any idea about the value of money at all. Damn kids, when will they learn?

I didn't even major in "what I loved." I picked a "responsible" major. The jobs all suck ass and the pay is shit anyway. At least there are jobs for it, I guess.
If I had majored in art or history or some bullshit I'd just put a bullet in my head.

The irony is that student loans almost single handedly caused tuition to go up, making it necessary for future generations to take them out and fueling a never ending cycle.

When you take something in limited supply that everyone believes is absolutely vital and then allow people to easily borrow money to obtain it, you get a massive debt bubble.

Not going to post but it's boring, responsible, and I was told the jobs would fall into my lap and pay great money. All lies.
How do people actually pay these off? I feel like there has to be a smarter way that I'm just not seeing.

Kids read Facebook and check their Instagram for at least 1 hour a day, but literally can’t take a couple hours to understand personal finance, apr rates and compounding interest. Good decision lads!!!!

Going to apply for a 3 week gig that pays a higher hourly than I was getting at my last contract role (indefinite contracts, so they cut you whenever the work slows down with no notice). Maybe roll it into asking for higher pay. And if it's only 3 weeks long they probably won't have a super strict interview process? One would think.
Seriously, are there any better strategies to approach the money game?
>>11233077

It's almost like we'd have to invest into the country to create infrastructure or production that actually build wealth, or something. Too hard, just put interest on everything and have the goyim figure out how to gather more money to feed the beast a while longer.

Can't you still get in trouble if you do this? If you're working abroad as an American you still have to report income to the US government.

>> No.11233971

To my understanding it's fine, as long as you never plan on returning to the US. If you lose your english teaching job and get deported, you're fucked. And that does happen.
but idk

Years in federal prison for not paying your shekels I think.

Also if you're a US citizen the US government can freeze your assets in the bank even if it's a foreign bank.
