2. if they feel like a decentralized oracle service is necessary for their smart contracts they will make the switch to chainlink

the whole point of decentralized oracles is so the data is trustless. If there is no need for trustless data then no the smartcontract wont use it. However, when the smartcontract will want to use data that is not biased or trustless. thats when Chainlink oracles comes in.
