I accept it as true, but truthfully I never understood this proof. It seems to me that the second step, 10*0.999 = 9.999..., requires us to accept the premise automatically, so the rest of the proof is redundant. I'm not really sure why multiplying 0.999... by 10 is equal to 9.999--
