Welcome to /pmg/ - First Edition!
>Introduction
This is an inclusive thread for all precious metals discussion that pertain to investing in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, for coins, rounds, and bars. Other metals (like copper) are welcome as well. Physical possession is always recommended. Please keep discussions civil and evidence-based, and refrain from unnecessary ad hominem arguments. If you prefer crypto over PM, that's fine. If you prefer one PM over others, that's fine too. Just remember, all precious metals are precious and have their rightful purpose in both industry and investment. A good strategy should be to diversify and have as many PM's as possible.

100 oz is not too small.

After the fiat/deflationary collapse you will have the equivalent of 1,400 days wages.

Since historically a day wage equaled a silver piece the size of a silver dime. And 14 silver dimes = 1 ounce.

It'll actually be more than 1,400 and more like 5,000 days wages because of the massive manipulation and there's much less silver available and billions more people on the planet.

With 100 ounces ( transferred into the new currency) you'll probably be able to buy an apartment complex without a mortgage

Manipulation works until it doesnt. We've had 0% interest rates for almost a decade. This must end in economic ruin.

100 ounces will be a small fortune in a deflationary collapse.

People in the past earned the equivalent of a silver piece the size of a silver dime throughout human history.

Today some shmuck selling insurance might make 200$ a day..... which is the equvialent of like 15 ounces of silver if he converted it to silver. That flies in the face of all economic historical reality.

For someone in the past and even in many parts of the world today it would have taken those people like 200 days of hard work to amass 15 ounce of silver. And some asshole selling insurance jerking off in the public restroom twice a day is able to make that in a day.

Professions like lawyers make artificially high incomes off the backs of real goods producing Americans through inflation.

It will come to an end

But then i remember that this is probably America and considering how many problems occur with guns, it is a good idea.

Which reminded me that we should all buy assets that are favorable for our geographical location, because the things you would buy in America, would be different than those in Asia for example.

In a crowded country you might want more control (guns), but in a deserted are you want more preparation (food, water).
