Is higher and lower dimensions just a fantasy? All objects in our universe are 3 dimensional, thus they all have X,Y,Z lengths greater than 0. A 2D object would lack Z, or Z would be 0. If X and Y were infinite big, this object would still not have any mass since it's Z value is 0. You could stack infinite amount of this object ontop of eachother and they would take no more place then a single object. This object would take 0 space, since it’s height is 0, how would it even be detectable?

Yes a 2D object doesn't exist in the real world, in the end there are atoms, or if you want to go the whole way the Planck scale. Don't understand the point of asking whether it'd be detectable or not. From a 3D vantage point any 2D is included and detectable just look at x and y on the plane z=0.
Mass doesn't make sense in 2D, the equivalent is basically area
