There's two types of herpes.

Anyway, every now and then there's research that suggests some relationship between herpes and Alzheimer's. Personally, I don't buy the naive argument that just because we haven't discovered serious affects of herpes yet that it must be harmless. If it vastly increases the chances of Alzheimer's, then I'm not fucking with people who have it, and even if a majority of people have it, that's mostly older people. I.e., don't fuck anyone over thirty or who has had lots of partners. And it feels gross to mention this, and I am not sure if I fell for /pol/'s retarded propaganda or if it's true, but I thought I read somewhere that certain minority groups have it more often.

Like you hear this a lot but I've made out with strangers at parties and my gf and I have had multiple partners, as have all my partners... And I don't have herpes. I've gotten blood-tested multiple times and just don't have it.

BTW, most STD tests don't cover herpes. You have to specifically ask for it. The medical establishment just decided that they know what's good for society and that if you get herpes it's good for society so people won't feel bad when you reject
