thats not in the governance model anymore. they can only freeze accounts if a smart contract did not work as specified. what i meant when i said "its not in the same league" is that EOS has developed an entirely new deterministic VM based on wasm, a completely new consensus protocol and has 1000's of independent devs working on it. while vechain is literally just a fork of ETH with PoA and despite this, still has little technical advantages apart from 50 tps as opposed to eth's 15 tps. which is fucking abysmal considering all 101 nodes are pre selected. similar story with neo except neo has at least developed a custom VM.
again, all are still shitcoins though since they have centralised consensus.

Honestly ETH has many faults.
Why does it have to be a single one when the "downfall" (strong word maybe decline) is brought by multiple problems. Many of which were mentioned here:

But lets recap:

>Vitalik is a BAD spoke person and PR for his project. It fine to be critical and want to improve it. It terrible when you don't believe in your own project and other peoples project. At this point I don't know how much programing he does, but he is bad for ETH.

>ETH FAILED to do what it promised it will do.

ETH is not scalable. A single project in the name of crypto kitties showed it. ETH can not sustain massive amount of transactions that are cheap for the average user. 8$ in sending fee or days of waiting is not okay.

> The language... its obsucure few people know it. This means that a lot of people need to learn it and invest time and money to use eth. Its not C++ or anything else that is widly popular.

>People made millions in the ICO golden age. The insane amount of profit brough insane amount of scams with it or risky projects.

>Your starting to need a very own HDD to store the block chain... witch will get worse with time.

>At the same time its stale technology. No new programing languages, no POS, no sharding, no fixes of the bloat of the chain since the project launch really.

I am sure there more problems that i forgot to mention, however are the few I mentioned not enough to make you want to not buy ETH?

ETH is not the the child of the prophecy. It won't be the one coin that will start MASS adoption and make crypto useful in day to day life.

It has to be a new language. No other popular language is deterministic. You can get different results running the same code on different hardware, it's the reason they created solidity. They didn't want to create a new language, they had to.

But ETH is ETH and one of the best buys you can buy and WILL increase for sure again. However nobody knows where the bottom is and nobody is daring to risk buying too much when it can also drop another 50% to 100ish. It is hard to estimate where it finally stops dropping.

>> No.10985889

Why do you guys even reply to this kind of hand-waving?

>> No.10985891

It boggles my mind that people think smart contracts are something new. It's quite simply business logic which has existed since businesses used computers. Masses of people taken for a ride by a hype word.
What is new about blockchain is being able to create a value exchange network without the problem of double spending. This is the problem solved by bitcoin. "Smart contracts" are just business logic that makes use of blockchain. Most business logic doesn't need a blockchain, as it is slow, expensive, public, and not under the control of the party owning the business logic. In other words, it's niche. Private blockchains are just a lol concept. Bitcoin has the value network use case covered with the network effect. It's the de facto base currency of the crypto world.
Doing all business logic at all nodes (ethereum's basic design) is just... so bad that one crypto kitties app is enough to crash your network.
The fact is that multi million dollar disputes will still be settled in the real world through real world law and no corporation is ever going to accept "code is law".
ICO's are a cute use case but since projects need to cash out, well, you see what is happening right now.
That being said, since bitcoin fees will get higher over time there will always be room for altcoins for poorfags.
So "smart money", maybe in the sense that they can scam retards for billions worth.

Soon I’d think. ETH is criminally oversold right now from a TA standpoint. Not to mention the fact that it’s the second largest trading pair and has more daily transactions than pretty much any other coin. It could drop a tiny bit more but it has use for now so it can’t go away completely without someone taking advantage of the low prices and buying a shit ton

Isn't BitcoinCash forking off? Why support Bcash when you can go with the ''I'm satoshi'' blockchain? I think Craig Wright supporting Bcash was the biggest thing going for it. I like how Ver is keeping it balanced however. But I do really think there's more value in the forked coin than in Bitcoin Cash.

Sure and it’s certainly something to be concerned about. I just don’t see any way the second largest trading pair, highest transaction volume, backbone of multiple tokens, will crash into nothingness overnight. I wouldn’t doubt that something would take its place in the relatively near future but right now it wouldn’t make sense. Not to mention futures are about to happen so wall st probably would want to buy a bunch so they can short it all over again.

the worry isn't that it'll crash to zero overnight, but moreso that it will reach a bottom of somewhere around $150 per coin and will just sit there for months on end. it sucks because a lot of the coins i trade are paired with eth

Yeah I trade exclusively in ETH so I get it. What I’ll do occasionally though is trade out my ETH trading gains for BTC and just hold it that way. I’m much more confident about the longevity of BTC for sure so that could help. Not really ideal but could be a good way to hedge.
