Not exactly. Ethereum is a trustless, decentralized smart contract platform, while chainlink, is a trustless, decentralized oracle network. Now, an oracles job is to bring data from the real world, and make it usable on the blockchain. The trustlessness/decentralization aspect is key, as it removes the possibility of tampering, or the network going down. So while chainlink will be the next crypto to see an Ethereum like moonshot, no, its nothing like ethereum outside of its decentralized nature. Bitcoin was the first decentralized currency, eth the first decentralized smart contract platform, link the first decentralized oracle network. The possibilities of smartcontracts are endless, but are currently limited to the blockchain and the plethora of shitcoins. So if crypto is going to be useful at all, one of two things has to happen. We either switch to an all crypto, all token society, highly unlikely, or, we take this groundbreaking, amazing new technologies like distributed ledgers, blockchain, and smartcontracts, and figure out how to fold them into our current systems. Enter LINK.
