They're best suited for such a use case because they have the built-in ability to interact with contracts and are fungible with other coins on the platform. Bitcoin & Nano is your the best bet. I mention Bitcoin because of BAKKT. With BAKKT it will soon be possible to use your BTC balance to pay fast & everywhere, unfortunately, the tradeoff will be centralization, as your btc payments will go through traditional payment channels, e.g. your BTC balance (BAKKT) -> convert BTC to FIAT -> top-up your debit card with that FIAT -> pay vendor. As for nano, if they continue to approach countries with a financial crisis (like Venezuela), it'll be possible that a new giant will be born, but this will take some time.

It still requires much time & adoption to see a flippening with fiat, but all checkboxes are set, and adoption increases as we speak.
