This is my investment strategy. 70% in Berkshire Hathaway and S&P500 (50/50). 30% in a diverse portfolio of Cryptocurrencies. Thoughts?

Just buy amazon and brk.b. Amazon is doing the disrupting, brk.b is stuff that is hard to disrupt, you don’t want stuff in the middle

This makes sense if amazon wasn't at all time highs in a 10 year bull run

simply to take advantage of potential 10x or 100x, bitcoin may only go to like 250k

the dollar is going to zero
any company that doesn't adapt to crypto fast enough will be the laggards
the laggards will get badly fucked

even then, the companies that are protected by and only able to operate thanks to government regulation and taxation (and even propped up by taxation in some cases) will be completely and utterly fucked
say goodbye to most of, if not all of the companies in california as we know them
amazon's fucked too, if they can't compete for customers and employees with the real competition that's coming

I hope this happens, but it's not that likely compared to the US economy just going on and on growing. Crypto will be important, but not everything, is a more likely scenario.

BRK.B and AAPL is a better strategy but also check out Visa and Mastercard

Why would you want to hodl through all the bear markets? I'll never understand the long hodl meme. Take your goddamn profit when it's abundantly clear the thing broke bearish. Buy back in when you get clear bullish reversal. You don't even need to trade it well to do far better than you would have just hodling through all of it.

You should consider a portion of crypto in C20 its a rebalanced index fund of top 20 cryptos, its easy mode holding for long term, its NAV is under ICO price right now also.

1. As others have pointed out, WB is quite old. That said, if AAPL didn't eat shit when Jobs died, maybe it won't be a big deal here either.

2. Berkshire Hathaway beats the market by like 5% while carrying 3x the risk of an index. It's unironically a shitty stock.

Data visualisation: 118 coins plotted over time this is why HODL altcoin indexes don't work:

Crypto-currency Index Funds, the simulations have surprising results

TL;DR: if you're not planning on tracking the price and timing the market (which you're incapable of, because you're posting on 4chan and not working for Goldman), holding altcoins will lose you money vis-a-vi bitcoin, and probably even vis-a-vi USD.

>> No.10850818

I'd wait until buffet dies to buy in.
