reminder TSLA would be 380 right now if musk wasn't socially incompetent. If he had been good at manipulating the market, meaning not tweeting like a loon and instead doing it more professionally the entire market would be sucking him off and valuing at 380.

The bungle after bungle is why it's where it is. This creates opportunity. Exploit social ineptness and rash decisions, always look past his social behavior and let it settle out.

The opportunity is similar to TSLA at 290-300 before earnings. It was mostly because Elon was nutty and had no idea how to socially motivate the market. His ability to use social media is like -1000 on the stat sheet. At some point though reality shines back in. Engineer leaders are like that.

I did, it said roughly the same thing that I just said, but also described its use as a hedge tool, which also seems like more of an exceptional thing rather than a trading strategy. And I don't see why me liking (or disliking) any particular company has to do with shorting its stock always being the best course of action. Surely a better reason to like a company is that it's on the path to growth, rather than being in a death spiral to bankruptcy.

That is correct. The stress of watching the daily fluctuations and having to make rational decisions based on them is certainly not something just anyone can do successfully. Canopy Growth's financials are out. Unimpressive as expected but not worse than expected. It could take a couple days to a week or two for Canopy and the rest of the recreational growth sector to consolidate on the low and swing back upwards. Tomorrow and Thursday will probably have some violent volatility if you wanna day trade. That's probably what I'll be doing this week.

Also some non official DD for Carnival:

Up here they've basically taken over the middle of the state in regards to tourism. They're fucking killing it. They own about 6 resorts within a 200 mile radius plus a few hotels in Anchorage. I've been up here for 3 summers now and this is the most people I've ever seen. Boomers go fucking nuts for Holland America and Princess is basically the white trash version of 'luxury' vacationing. We're talking around 300,000 people coming through in six months spending upwards of 2k per person.

Millienials arent taking cruises but 'grandma's last ride to alaska' is becoming more popular each year

If you have the capital, buy up every parcel of land outside of Healy, AK. They just got a grocery store. The issue with real estate is the accessibility.

The thing about this place is there's no where else to put all these fucking people. Carnival (Holland and Princess) are so overbooked that they've basically taken over the other two resorts as their own satellite hotels. It's easier than ever now to come visit Denali and everyone wants to see the bears and moose and the mountain.

It's all built on the side of mountains and the shale + permafrost makes new construction an absolute bitch.

This will be worth 3 million in ten years:
https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/000-No-Rd-Cantwell-AK-99000/2103251024_zpid/?fullpage=true

In terms of commercial, the only thing up here is tourism. Other areas of AK are different but here in the interior its all about Denali. If you wanted to start a business, just find something boomers like and charge them a ton of money for it. People are paying $150 for 3 hours of hiking on public accessible trails.

This shit is going to 0, probably by EOY. The BoD is retaining their own console. Musk is lying about absolutely everything and openly committed securities fraud. The NYT just ran a damning piece. The build quality has gone to shit. Theres lots full of thousands of cars. Logistic hell, tons of delivery delays. Multiple mechanics liens are placed on the factory. Any chance for Q3 profitability is lost with all these legal fees and distractions. The SEC is investigating. Jim Cramer is shilling it. The writing is on the wall.

It's called a correlation matrix.
It shows how certain stocks correlate in regards to rate of change in a day over the course of a period of time. Maybe to see if one ticker out performs another?
In regards to stocks; Reluctant is taking the indexes and comparing each other to find... something. I'm not sure what.

Typically there would be a line of correlation and you'd have a statistics wizard (who knows a lot more than me about statistical economics) explain about null hypothesis, alternate hypothesis and P values but unfortunately it's 12:17 AM and I just started digging into this stuff.
I will attempt to explain better if you're still interested in a weeks time.

You serious nigger ?

CCL has nearly 10% net margin and consistent positive FCF
Which is quite good

Albeit their revenues have not been growing much for the last 5 years , they have enhanced dramatically their operating margins.

According to our lonely Alaska anon, the revenue growth is hindered by bottlenecks in accomodations and I see 3 possibilities :
- CCL tries to expand its capabilities
- CCL "organizes" the shortage and keep its margins high
- or a mix of both of them

Their growing debts (which are still manageable at x2 TTM EBITDA) may indicate they are expanding their facilities.

I think that stock deserves some investigation.

Also, I hope CCL would offer something related to Bob Ross because he was a cool dude from Alaska.

He suggested going long on good quality companies (positive cash flows in USD), LT US bonds and go long JPY because it is cheap and we are due for a recession in March 2019 (maybe).

I also begin to think this USD strength could be a tactic by Emperor Trump to bring the other countries around the negotiation table (like India and Japan did)

>oh yeah you are a great guy and I like you very much but you know, I have no control over my central bank policy. Jay - who is a great guy, appreciate him - wants to raise rates and there is nothing I can do about it.
