Dude you can't comprehend how much wealth these guys have, they have so much that its more interesting for them to break this oil dependency and with that some power structures in the world. They still got tons and tons of money and with that tons of power.

Saudi families have lately been purging corroption within their political structures. These guys are seriously moving forward, for whatever reason but it appears positive. Some young Saudi prince has been investing really hard into renewable energy. This boy has grown up with these riches, and I figure he's a little more considerate of his position than his corrupt brothers and uncles.

The amount of oil these people has is insane, and there will always still be oil needed for certain products, what are they going to do? Just keep this going for another 100 years at the possible expense of ruining their market? Or change, use their insane wealth for wealth creation and with that break new markets?

They are basically out hunting for a bailout of their literal junk rated debt. Somehow Musk was allowed to bailout Solar City via Tesla, but this time around the only hope is to find a greater fool than the collective shareholders. It's very likely that they received a Wells notice disallowing them from raising capital. Even if they swing this somehow the competition coming from nearly every other other carmaker will kill Tesla off, at least as we know it. Profitable carmakers will subsidize their EVs with traditional sales until the lights go out. Insane how the fanboys can't see this.

I don't know why Musk can't file for secondary sale, but something clearly prevents him from it. If he got Wells Notice, he lied about not getting it already. In the end every fraud does what Tesla does now. Makes noise about being taken private. 90%+ of them end up filing for protection. He will take it under if he can, but his margin debt prevents him from doing it, but he may claim SpaceX shares as collateral. If he doesn't take it under, he will end up in jail. The fact that he has to go out and lie about a buyer means he has less than 3 months left. They all do it when they know it's over. Tesla is no exception.
